Who would have thought this could work, nice experiment!

Floatation wheels from a kite buggy would be the way to go. Can send photo of mine if you can't find any. Keep the videos coming 😊

I know what kite buggy wheels look like, but if you have like the brand name or model or something that could be useful.

The sand here isn't always this soft, its just been exceptionally dry. Usually in the mornings there's moisture from dew that firms everything up significantly and that's when I was anticipating riding this thing. But that didn't happen at all, zero dew. I head out here usually several times a year, so I'll save these axles to use again. But for now I'll stick the wheels back to their boards and get my quiver re-assembled.

Do you think fat go-cart wheels might work better?

Yes, in terms of staying on top of the sand. Kart tires are 10 inches in diameter or so vs the 8 inches of the dirtboard wheels, so that extra diameter means you can sink a little more and still roll. Then the extra contact width means you will sink less. But, those wheels would be crazy heavy. You'd need really large axles to handle that load, and much stronger trucks and baseplates to move that much mass. It would be a bigger scale of a project to make it work.

You know where this would work? Great sand dunes national park, Colorado. Dunes the size of mountains, super fricking steep. Sand is about the same softness as where you're at in this video.
