Love how the geometry is coming along. Are your prototypes just solid PLA with a steel threaded rod for the axle?

I use PETG. The layer adhesion makes functional prints more foolproof IMO. And the axle in this guy is a grade 5 bolt. A lot harder than threaded rod, and can handles stuff like this. But means a narrower hanger if you want to stay within the reasonable price range for 5/16 bolts.

Super cool!! Have you tried waterborne surf adapters? They feel progressive too, but maybe they aren’t? I can say they lean more than carver trucks and now they have a “fin” system to change the pivot angle +/-5 degrees. I would imagine you might have the same love for these adapters as I do. They have a swing arm up front like carver but in the rear the adapter gives the rear truck a ton more lean without any change to turning.

Waterborne adapters are on my list of things I need to try. I'll get to them eventually.

@@chainmaillekid you tried carvers?

Whoops, that was my other account. Yes, its been a few years but I've been able to try carvers a few times.

would it be a fair statement to say you've essentially moved the baseplate to the traditional truck hanger position with its baseplate component; in effect nominally shifting the single pivot point into a dynamic, bi-planar angle arrangement? I like the innovation, bizarre or not 👊🏻

How can you adjust the amount of pivot-angle-added-per-degree-of-lean (PAAPDOL)? The rear truck doesn't need a lower static pivot angle, but it needs less PAAPDOL.
@LongboardTechnologyАй бұрын
It would be very hard to make this adjustable. You control this rate through a few inputs, but it really comes down to the angle of the two "pivot cups". If that angle is zero, then its a normal truck with no progression, and you get more and more progression up until about as wide of an angle as I made here. There's a couple ways that might let you mess with it by setting up the truck differently, but we've not had luck doing that and having the truck hold up.

@@LongboardTechnology I see. Thx for the clarification. 👍
