Tbf, I picked up a couple of Tosai off Tim back at the start of May. Minimum they've put on 4" inches in 3 months. Unheated with up and down temps and parasite issues I had prior. But I had an issue with the quarantine setup, so I had to put them in the main pond. But all good now apart from temperatures and all the fish seem to grow by the day😂.

More than enough room for a small mud pond in that garden! Lovely pond
@richardiasparo5026 Жыл бұрын
Dont you need the sunlight to keep the colors on the koi? Or does he have special lights
@TimWaddington Жыл бұрын
The whole room is glass, also there is a huge skylight above the pond.

Yes, that really is a magnificent pond, with amazing koi Tim. I take it the owner is a subscriber to my channel, and learnt all he needed from my indoor pond before building it…🤔👍🏼 😂🤣😂 Another great video mate….👍🏼

Some koi ponds you just have to bow dowm to my mrs would shoot me if i built something like that but then after shed would see why what a filter house id have probly ditched both windows there not my cup of tea but i do like seeing them on a pond that suits them
@TimWaddington Жыл бұрын
This pond would be pointless without the window. It’s indoors and the chairs etc make it so the window is a must.
@leeoliver4063 Жыл бұрын
@@TimWaddington that is very true and i do see some good points to windows great way to check koi aswell as see them sat in a comfy chair 🙂
@simonshears5182 Жыл бұрын
IMO best place for a Pond is “Indoors” much easier to control the variables
@TimWaddington Жыл бұрын
You would think so but most ponds, when mature should be fine. This pond has even had parasites… no idea how!!
@yankeedoodledandeefirecrac7518 Жыл бұрын
so why does some one go to the expense the massive expense of these large ponds and fill it with $5 dollar KOI quality?
@TimWaddington Жыл бұрын
Quality of the Koi is actually irrelevant. That’s a separate part of the hobby all together. 95% (ish) just want to come home and feed their fish and have a drink next to their pond, or just a vocal point in the garden. Then you have the people who want to show Koi so they of course have to buy the quality. There are many routes you can take in this hobby

Why would you not want a window pal
@paulmarjoram2258 Жыл бұрын
@@Jays-rods just don’t like them. Guess they’re useful for checking for problems but certainly not the best way of viewing koi. Would rather sink the pond lower and view more from above. Also feel that the exposure to the outside world is unnatural and maybe stresses fish more.

I need a bigger pond. Even though I'm unheated and the weather has not been great, the fish I got off you this year and last year have grown so much. I need to unsubscribe before your next Japan trip.
