Abe, this was the highlight of my day. Relaxing and educational. I’ve been scratching my head why I can’t lower my po4 and you solved it - the nori might be to blame. I use 1.5 sheets a day. Many thanks!!

Abe you’ve inspired me to test 1/4 sheet of nori in 0.00 PPB po4 RODI. After 1hr of soaking, the po4 was 200PPB. I would have never guessed. Thanks again.

15 years reefing, almost 6 months of T5 and all I can say is T5 is amazing, led for shimmer and your set. Corals love T5. After looking at some incredible tanks in Germany , I realised T5 grows and colour SPS like nothing else. Of course all the other bits of the puzzle need to be there.

How did you come across that corroded magnet? I've been grappling with a tin (Sn) problem for approximately a month. After conducting numerous ICP tests, I stumbled upon a screw that had somehow made its way into my sump. Subsequently, I removed the screw and utilized Cupisorb and several other products. Unfortunately, I lost several SPS due to slow tissue necrosis (STN). In an effort to mitigate the issue, I've been performing water changes consistently. Additionally, I switched out all tubing with food-grade silicone. Currently, I've initiated another round of ICP testing for all potential sources of incoming water, including Tropic Marine salt.

@TheTimSargent3 жыл бұрын
I’ve got the elephant in the room in my tank as well.... in the process of cycling a new QT tank so I can start moving over coral and then do a complete over haul of my DT. I was going to just leave them be until they started growing on my coral! They’ve taken out my purple stylo, and have grown up through my monti, and are currently growing on a few colonies. It’s really frustrating... hoping I can figure out a solution for the future.

New wonderful video, the same wonderful tank! I’m your fan and I saw more or less all your videos (many times :) ) and I have a question about the salt that you are now using. I remember an old video (2018) where you posted these parameters. Alkalinity 8.0 dkH Calcium 410 ppm Magnesium 1350 ppm I think they didn’t change so much during the years and I know you are a fan of water change and stability. Here comes my question: you are now using Red Sea Coral Pro that is a bit far from your parameters, mostly in the alkalinity component. Aren’t you worried about the “jump in alkalinity” caused by each water change? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!Stefano

One more question for you... if all we can afford is black box LEDs with two adjustment knobs, one for white and one for blue, how would you say we should start off balancing them? Should it be 100% blue and maybe 10% white? At first I was running 50/50 and thought that I might be giving my tank Too much white light. Just not sure at this point.
@CoralEuphoria3 жыл бұрын
Hard to say. I had the viparspectra over my frag tank. I ran it at 100/20ish for 6 hours, the rest was 100 blue, but that was just based on appearance. I eventually replaced the light for ATI T5s
