You might be wondering why I didn’t mention bacteria as a cause of RTN and why I didn’t go in depth about certain treatments. Consider this video as Part 1. I will make another STN and RTN video in the future.👊

Great video! And you're right. I'm just now after 1.5 months, seeing the results of using Anti Red followed by a nutrient spike. I lost my hyacinthos, but I've stopped the TN on other corals by dipping them in lugols and using a water color brush to clean, in the iodine dip, the infected area. Seems to have helped.

The master speaks. Love this channel! The only other thing I would do if you really can't figure out rtn or stn is an ipc test. Started losing colonies while say, my walt Disney had every colour of the rainbow and was fine. Test came back and tin was off the charts, barium off the charts. Phosphorus way too high, while my phosphate test kit was saying 0.02. The only thing we can't be in control of is the salt make up.

I just got into acros last month and one of my acros has started to bleach a little around the base...My guess is high Phosphates as cyano growth is starting to get bad. So, will be doing waterchanges every week again...as I was dosing all for reef. I use Red Sea Pro. Do u think dosimg is necessary? or should I just continue with my regular water changes.

Good vid but I think every tank seems to work well under its own parameters, I’ve had three different tanks and all three kept different ranges, yes I could get them to be the same numbers but it was allot of extra work and I don’t think the reward was worth it, example, my tank now runs around 25ppm nitrate and .06 phosphate, I do chance my gfo and that number goes down but even with carbon dosing my nitrates hardly move, my system is only 112 gallons 95% acros, and they are nice size colonies and not cheap ones, I use to chase numbers but that’s too much work!! Thx
