After over a year of seemingly endless work, I finally take the buggy out for its first shakedown run on a dirt track and share my initial thoughts.

Since you used the Polaris transmission, I would assume this has F-N-R? Also nice to see it worked out so you could build an independent rear suspension. I know people who have used the older chain drive H-L-N-R setup from a Polaris 4x4 ATV, and that made it possible to build a 4x4 buggy with the chain driven front diff. I'd like to one day build something similar to the early John Deere Gator, but make it 4x4 with the Polaris parts. Nothing fast, just a woods crawler/work UTV.

Yes the gearbox is from a 2012 RZR570 so it has P-R-N-L-H. That's what I love about Polaris gearboxes, they give so many options for custom builders. Sounds like you have some good ideas, best of luck on your build!
