You've always been clear about what safety precautions need to be taken, and you have explained the conditions under which you feel safe not using them for yourself. Ultimately, it is the individual's responsibility to keep themselves safe; not sure why people feel the need to complain at you. The sinks turned out beautifully; congratulations. May your week be filled with Joy. Be well

Thanks a lot :-) And yes, naturally it is up to each of us how well we want to protect ourselves. But still, I do feel a bit of responsibility for at least pointing out when it may be a good idea to do.

I feel that you are pretty good about protection and talking about it. I taught printmaking under OSHA (US regulation for hazards in the workplace and public institutions) oversight, so feel I can give you feedback on this. Rul of thumb, if you smell the material you are inhaling it. Love the sinks.

Nice job!! They look great! I was thinking about doing sinks too, but just a little nervous regarding the hole size for the drain. It's difficult to measure when different clays have different shrinkage rates. And even though the clay suppliers give you those percentages, the clay shrinks three times: once when drying, second time when bisque fired and third time on glaze fire. So I'm not sure how to get the right measurement. I guess it's like you always say, everything is an experiment! Thank you for sharing your work. 🙏

Thanks :-) Next time I just make the holes a little bigger. As I mention in the video it's actually not a problem if they end up a bit too big

I throw bowls but have never thrown a wash basin. Someone asked me about this a few weeks ago, and I tested some glaze failed bowls to see how well they coped with impacts, and the answer was not well. How think do you make the walls to give them resilience, and do you do anything else to make sure your basins will survive?

Thanks. I do make them pretty thick as I am more concerned with the strength than the weith. Walls are approx 1 cm thick and seem to hold well

@@deMibPottery Thank you. Do you do any thing specific in terms of the choice of clay or the firing regime to make them robust?
