As a failing flower-blower, this really excites me. I just went out and bought watercolors because the whole blowing ink around thing always leaves me with a mess, but I keep going back to the ink. I dont know why I thought I needed permission to pull out the brush and boss the ink around more, but I guess I did🙄. Thanks!😂 I think we're gonna get somewhere good with this!

I'm so glad you feel inspired. You can do so much more using a dry palette. I'd love to see how you do!

Very helpful. I have been using a pallet and let them dry overnight. But I have been putting too little in the pans which I end up adding more wet ink as I work, then the ink is too wet. Sometimes it still works out but I do love the detail I can achieve with the dry pallet.

If you add too much ink at once, it seeps over the edge and makes a mess on the palette. You're better off adding a little, letting it dry and adding a bit more. Glad you found the video helpful.

I ended up creating a new pallet the right way and decided to share it on this video. I wont make that mistake again.

Love this idea as just getting started w/alcohol inks and have unused watercolor palettes that I can use! Do you have video on how to seal your paintings?
@VivoVintageDesigns
@VivoVintageDesigns 3 жыл бұрын
@@dreamartoriginala1014 no, I dont have a video on sealing my paintings. I use 2 or 3 light coats of kamar varnish and the 2 of kamar UV protection. I let a painting dry for about a week before I begin the sealing process and then allow each coat to dry at least 5 or 6 hours before applying the next.

Another method is to label on outside top of the lid-did mine in posca pen white. It is tedious, but my color charts seem to never be where my paints are. I never thought to use the lid as a mixing pallette, duh. About Overfilling-alcohol climbs! (look at your wine or brandy glass sometime). I like your advice to just fill the bottom...i tried layering with small success: it still wanted to climb over the edge. 🤪 Thank you for your videos. They are interesting and helpful.

Thank you for such a great idea. Can you use metallic inks as well or would the micas sink and you would end up with color without the metallic finish?

That's a good question and I think you are right about it separating.

This is a great idea what you have there. Are your pallets made of plastic, acrylic or are they porcelaine? They are pretty expensive in Germany.
@VivoVintageDesigns
@VivoVintageDesigns Жыл бұрын
Thank you. The one featured in this video is plastic and very inexpensive...about $6 USD.

I'm so glad you found the video helpful. I usually use Kirkland or Amazon Basics Glossy photo paper. Those two work best for me. Be sure to use the matte side for blowing out flowers and you can use the glossy side if you dont want the ink to move and for more detailed painting.
