Dr jeff you're a true saver! Imagine that our Dr uses a pointing laser to explain hard problems and she doesn't even bother to write them down, she reads them from her downloaded files. I swear the only reason that I'm gonna ace this course is because of your videos Sir. Respect!

I wish all professors learn from your videos on how to teach, this was amazing. I was studying for the FE exam and was stuck on how to find the maximum moment so I looked it up and came across your video, I was already familiar with your videos so I was looking forward to learn it in the easiest way possible and what do you know, just watching your video once understanding all the steps clearly I now fully understand!

Hey Dr Hanson everyone says this but thank you very much for these videos, you saved me in this course. Your videos are entertaining and you explain things thousands of times better than my professor. You make this course much easier to understand and fun to learn, thank you

if this helps anyone, try to think of the shear diagram as a representation of the slope for the moment diagram. When you get a negative number in the shear means the moment diagram is decreasing, if the number gets less and less negative means the moment diagram is decreasing more gradually.

I've always been confused on the location of the concentrated load for triangle distribution load. How do you tell when to apply the (1/3)*6 or (2/3)*6?
@sajiahma4202 жыл бұрын
its always on the taller side. So here the tallest side of the triangle is the right side, so the concentrated load is closer to the right side (2/3)

sir, if it has a concentrated moment on B, what will happen to the fbd??

where's the 9KN on the shear diagram?
@bdavis893374 жыл бұрын
The 9 kN force really isn't there... It is the result of the distributed load used for finding reactions but not for the diagrams. So technically it is represented on the shear diagram by the parabolic portion from 0 to 6 meters. Hope this helps you out
