Fun facts about the movie: 1. The original tin man actor got lead poisoning from face paint and was in hospital. 2. The snow that made them fall asleep was asbestos. 3. Lion costume was made from an actual lion hide and weighed about 90 pounds the actor was always sweating and 2 people had to dry it out each day. 4. Editors wanted to cut over the rainbow song. 5. Toto was paid more than most of the Munchkins 6. The film broke even at the box office.

@@typhoonzebra while you are correct that it was not lead, it was aluminum dust, I don’t believe that it was a rare allergic reaction. Inhaling large amounts of aluminum dust can cause lung problems. The tin man always had on that silver makeup, so the actor that replaced the other might have just been better about not inhaling the dust.

The production was a nightmare. The lions costume weighed like 90 pounds and the actor spent all day under hot studio lighting, unsurprisingly he collapsed several times from exhaustion. The wicked witch had her face and hand horribly burned from a pyrotechnics stunt and as soon as she was back on set they made her do another one. The original tinman had to be put in an oxygen tent for 2 weeks from inhaling aluminium dust and the studio fired him because he couldn't work. When he spoke out about his poor treatment he was blacklisted in Hollywood.

The most surprising thing (considering this movie was made in Hollywood) is that the Scarecrow is holding the gun by the butt, not the trigger. In fact, his finger is completely away from the trigger. Nobody tell Alec Baldwin that a character from a kid’s movie has such excellent trigger discipline!

Fun fact: They couldn't send the Munchkin army with her for two reasons 1. The Munchkins are actually a peaceful people 2. There is a spell cast over Oz. Nobody can die unless it is an accident or an act of nature. This is is exactly why Dorothy was able to kill both witches. She didn't mean to do it. 3. You can actually rewrite this piece of lore since TWOz is in public domain. You can make the setting as gritty or metal as you'd like to. You can do anything with it, in fact. The book anyway

I’m sure someone already said it but, Margret Hamilton, the woman who plays the witch, caught on fire in the munchkin land scene. Not only did she suffer burns but they also had to put alcohol on her to get the paint off. She took about 2 months off then came back to record. But the test screening showed that kids where so scared of the witch that they cut roughly 50% of the scenes she did. Margret Hamilton is a fucking champ man.

Fun facts that Banjo Kazooie missed: 1. The actor that plays the Scarecrow was originally going to be the Tin Man, replacing the original actor that got a severe allergic reaction from the aluminum powder used to make himself look like he was made of tin, but when the actor learned that he was not planned to play the Scarecrow, he got so pissed off that he went to the casting manager and demanded to be recast as the Scarecrow, because in the stage plays he has been in, he is thin enough to be a scarecrow, and he can dance as if he were light as a feather. 2. When the movie got the actor that played the Tin Man, they learned from the original actor's poisoning incident and opted not to use aluminum powder again, instead, they used aluminum paste to simulate the actor being made of tin. 3. The producer of this movie wanted to make a movie adaptation of The Wizard of Oz ever since he was a kid reading The Wizard of Oz book. He also wanted to be the director of this movie, but learned that being both a producer and director is too big of a responsibility for him, so he settled with being the movie's producer. 4. There is a "Wizard of Oz" Super Nintendo game, it was created way back in 1993.

Fun fact about the "I'll miss you most of all" line. Dorothy and the scarecrow's real-world counterpart were originally supposed to be romantically attracted to one another, but it was cut from the film except there were small bits and pieces still left such as that line in the film. So you can also say since she was attracted to the real-world counterpart, she was also attracted to the scarecrow in the dream world.

So the reason the Tin Man exists (which they never get into in the movie) is because he was once a woodman, made of flesh like anyone else, but fell in love with the Witch of the Easts ward. So she enchanted his woodaxe to cut off one of his limbs each time he went out to chop, and each time he'd go to a tin Smith and have him make a replacement limb out of tin. One day the axe split him right down the middle and he had to wait for the smith to come along and replace the rest of him with tin (I think. That's how I remember it). Of course, the smith either forgot to forgot to make him a replacement heart, or wasn't able to.

Interesting fact (I don’t know if it was said already): The tornado shots in the movie was actually a practical effect. What the did was they made a miniature set on a large stage for the setting. And for the tornado they used a wind sock made of muslin. And as it was spinning on a pendulum on the top and bottom of the stage, they threw dirt at it to replicate that effect. It was the most costliest scene in the movie. (If I am wrong on some of these facts please feel feee to correct me)

So, I did as I promised. I synced this review right at 0:26, right at the frame that you start to see the merch ad, to Pink Floyd´s "Dark side of the Moon". [First Loop] (1:49) As soon Dorothy appears on scene, the guitar on "Speak to Me/Breathe" starts playing. (2:58) Lyrics start as Zach starts speaking, like the moment he opens his mouth. (4:40) Right when the Better Call Saul jokes commence, next song starts. As we see on screen the tornado happening, "On the Run" fits perfectly, especially (5:13), with this helicopter motor like sounds. (6:18) Everyone shouts "Woah!" right when this firing sounds start. (7:17) Everyone laughs as a loud helicopter motor sounds. (7:50-8:15) On this timestamp, Ryan´s talk about courts and suing syncs flawlessly with the ominous silence at the end of "On the Run". (8:54) A the frame, and I swear, the frame Zach Braff´s twitter is shown on screen, the first "Dun" of "Time" sounded. (11:14) As we zoom in on Alan´s beautiful bald face I´m greeted with the epic chorus, as the lyrics go "Tired of lying in the sunshine". (12:24) Not too big, but I found funny how the head-bangs synced with song. (14:15) When Emerald City appears, another chorus triumphantly plays as perfect background score. (15:11) "Surrender Dorothy" is read, as we hear "The Great Gig in the Sky". The sad/melancholic piano fits perfectly with the distress Emerald City residents start feeling by the threat. (16:13) Zach slow zoom in fits perfectly with one "Woaaaaaaaah!" from The Great Gig. (17:51) Yet another perfect background music moment. As the woahs start becoming more calm and prolonged the Wicked Witch starts screaming in pain and dies. [First Loop Ends] [Second Loop] (0:00) Literally the exact frame when Alan munches that chilli dog, "Money" starts playing. Like the moment he bits it, the first "Cha-ching" of the song plays. Needless to say throughout 0:00 to 0:45 this song fits superbly. Unfortunately after that there´s no sync, however I did found funny that as the singer goes: "Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash", the Razzle crew is talking about drinking Piña Colada straight from the bottle. (From 7:51 to 8:23) "Us And Them" fits very nicely as a background soundtrack throughout the review. (9:19) As Ryan says "Bro", the "Us And Them" grand chorus begins. (14:15) Emerald City once again is accompanied by a triumphant-like chorus the frame it appears. (17:37) The Witches laugh triggers the next song "Any Colour You Like". (18:56-19:31) Perfect sync with Dorothy saying goodbye to everyone. (19:49) Minor but funny. Right as this timestamp hits, I hear Roger Waters say "You make the change" which was hilarious for me as the video looped for one more time. [Second Loop Ends] [Third and Final Loop] (0:24) Song kicks in perfectly the frame Alan puts that chilli dog in his mouth. (2:07) As they say "Dog Sh*t", is at the final song "Eclipse" and it that precise moment, the lyrics go "And all that you give". (3:46) The Album ends, and so, I conclude my fun little experiment with this video.

Fun fact, there was supposed to be a story line where Dorothy and the mechanic guy on Dorothy's family's farm aka who is also the scarecrow were supposed to have a romantic relationship at the end. But Dorothy being a young girl they decided to cut it out. There was also another scene that they happen to recover when the building that held a lot of old Hollywood footage in movies burned down where the scarecrow is singing his song and then he jumps up into the air. Makes me wonder what other footage was there but who knows since the place was burned down and I'm sure a lot was too burned that it's completely gone
