As an American, I always hold my hand to my heart when I hear the Japan national anthem. I was in the air force in Okinawa and they would play the Japan anthem before the U.S. anthem. When I came back to America I was homesick for Japan. I truly do love and miss everything about Japan. アメリカ人として、私は日本の国歌を聞くときはいつも胸に手を当てます。私は沖縄の空軍にいたのですが、そこではアメリカ国歌の前に日本国歌が演奏されました。アメリカに戻ったとき、日本へのホームシックになりました。私は日本のすべてが本当に大好きで懐かしいです。

What a great, magical country. How I long to go back. Visited in 2016, Tokyo, Kyoto, Kamakura, Nara, Himeji & Hiroshima, and just fell in love with the land and the people, their history and culture. .... @@TR4R Yep, like all countries there is good and bad, that's inevitable when humans are involved. Also it is a very stratified and hierarchical society. There's an interesting book you may want to read called "Learning to Bow - Inside the Heart of Japan" by Bruce Feiler. He's an American teacher who lived and worked in Japan and gives a good insight into the social structure and barriers within that country. Despite all that though, based on my experience, I still love the place and would probably quite happily live there if I could. 😊🙏
