We are surprised at the number of over 75,000 views and lots of thumbs-up since we released this video, only for two years. It's not big deal in KZbin world. But it's a big deal for Gagaku performance like this. (Seems like national anthem is high-profile, not Gagaku itself though...) We've been planning to shoot new performances. But it's still been postponed because of COIVD-19. Anyway we'll keep trying to make videos. In the meantime, we would be happy if you enjoyed this video. Thank you for watching.

Holy sh... What i just listened to? - I knew, japanese and far east music style is very different to even European medieval music, but that thing stunned me. From the harmonics i would flee, but the whole presentation is like a light to a moth: it is intriguing!
Sorry, I don't speak Japanese, this is one of most amazing musical videos I have ever seen - utterly, utterly stunning and deeply powerful. Thank you so much
You know what this is the first time Ive heard the national anthem for Japan it is awesome. Greetings from Stockholm Sweden.

This is one of the most hauntingly beautiful pieces of National Anthem music l have ever heard. Thank you so much for sharing “Kimigayo” with us. Here in the UK, 🇬🇧we have one of the worlds most depressing National Anthem dirges (God Save The King!) on the planet!🤦♀️
Fantastic performance! Türkiye'den Doğan Güneş Ülkesine selamlar! 🇹🇷🇯🇵

Congratulations, Kotozakura! 💪 I’ve never heard any traditional Japanese music before, and to be able to listen to this in my own home was awesome. What a difference between the Western music I grew up with and this traditional music of Japan. I love the Japanese people. 🐰🇺🇸❤️🎸🎶✌️
Although it is often played on Western instruments at various events and sporting competitions, "Kimigayo" was composed 1100 years ago, and the melody was given to the poem by the Imperial Household Agency's Gagaku (ancient Japanese court music) players (as shown in this video), so it is best to hear the original quality of the song in Gagaku.
Stylised, dignified, elegant. Thank you for sharing.

Fantastically sophisticated music. It's not about getting lost in emotions, rhythm, etc. Sharp awareness and presence in the immediate moment!

After all these years, I've never heard it. Definitely not western music, very clearly Japanese, and there is something about it that is very deeply stirring. Domo arigato, gozaimas!
