Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

As a guy who comes from a small farm in the hills of eastern Norway. I thought it was quite unusual so to speak that you guys over in America are sitting in a tractor making sure everything goes smoothly while a computer drives the tractor using GPS. Over here we drive and steer our tractors ourselves for the most part, however the really big farms use GPS on their big fields. The tractor we use at our farm are between 25-50 years old, the newest tractor we own is a 1994 Valmet 6400.

This very interested non farmer, older man loves your videos and am always interested and impressed at the size of the implements. My neighbors in the country here in Georgia plant 12 rows but they work with much smaller fields. They do in fact have two center pivot irrigation systems that cover about 400 acres each and they also rip and bed rows before planting. Very interesting to me is that you drain land and they irrigate land.

We almost pulled the trigger on planting some corn last friday, but opted to leave it in the shop because of the forecast. We did get a bit of striptilling done instead so when the weather does shape up were good to go. You might want to look into some furrow cruisers for your closing wheels, we run them and love them. They do a better job in some of that mud then the normal wheels.

Now that I've watched all of your videos - what do I do now? Back when I was a kid, my dad farmed 22,000 acres as a hobby, so my early years were on the farm. I learned to drive on a tractor. I have a cousin who farms the SW corner of MN (the actual corner) - George Shurr, SW of Luverne - maybe you or your dad knows of him? Lots of farmers in my family - grandfathers, cousins, uncles. Wheat, hay, raspberries, timothy, alfalfa, straw, corn, soy beans,. My claim to fame as far as farming is concerned has been cherry tomato's - boy can I grow em. :)

Hi Mate, Watching you guy's with this corn planting, really shows how different the problems are. You guys not only have to worry about wet ground, but also the possibility of frozen ground that will enevertably effect seed germination and intern plant populations... Here in Northern Australia in the run-up to planting season, we really only have to deal with ground conditions either being too dry or too wet. Temperature is never a problem for us as we are located near the tropical of Capricorn. Wishing you guys all the best with the planting... Keep on farming...🇦🇺💚🇺🇸🌾🌱
