I am really enjoying the head videos. Why do you still need to shim the valve seats when you know that they are all the same height now? Thanks for sharing.

That cast iron is pretty 'soft', machined up nice. Machining spring seats deeper, how much material left before spring seat hits port roof? Can you get different length valve stems if needed or doesn't it matter as much if you shim rocker arms?

Sonic testing is used to check casting thicknesses, longer valve are available but this does not help With geometry or shimming.
