They were nasty towards the Ogdens. After accusing Stan of being a Peeping Tom, I'm surprised Hilda and Stan didn't move. None of them were true friends until Eddie Yates came along.

Bit of trivia for you, the actress who plays the stripper Vicky is the mom of Sam and Dan Houser who created Rockstar video games and are now worth over 150 million.

Random bit of trivia - the actress who played Vicki, the stripper, went on in real life, to have two sons, Sam and Dan Houser, the two men behind Rockstar Games (Grand Theft Auto among others).

It always surprised me how mean they would be against the always funny Ogdens. People that would be outraged by others looking down on them as working class, being nasty to a couple that they think is lower class than they are. It is accurate, but sad, how hypocritical folk are.

Dear Auntie Corrie 2, please can you possibly upload episode 1572 (I have longed to see for many a year) it’s from 16th February 1976. I have a strong childhood memory of it, it’s where Stan sets light to his broken tv in his back yard? In a misguided attempt to claim insurance for it. Many thanks 🙏 I’m loving all the other episodes uploaded & am really grateful to see them again. 👍🏼

50 guineas!😂😂😂
@londonlady227
@londonlady227 Жыл бұрын
That was the more traditional way of paying professional tradesman when the sum was over a certain amount, usually for art, livestock etc. A guinea was worth £1, 1 shilling. Thats the same as £1.05 in modern money. It was considered more gentlemanly to pay that way as a round £1 was considered coarse. It was traditional to pay barristers in guineas, then the shillings were given to their clerks. The extra shilling on the guinea was used for tipping the payees help usually.
