I’ve watched this video at least 15 times over the last 2 months. I finally got all the supplies and spent a Saturday and Sunday and about an hour or so a night during the week working on it. One thing I learned, if you don’t take your time dremeling the letters, it’ll be a pain in the butt when you paint the black light paint in them. But at the same time, I had to remind myself, it’s a Halloween decoration, it absolutely does not and almost should not, be perfect. Either way, what a fantastic idea. It was fun. Really helped me mentally being able to get creative and get involved in something. Next year I’m doing the tombstones you showed. Love the videos. Get to work making some more decorations for Christmas that I can do! All in all, this is one of the few projects I’ve done where I’ve actually been proud of myself. Thanks for the great in-depth videos man!

I watched this video several times because I found it so interesting and creative. It inspired me to make a sign (with my husband's help). It was a lot of work but I had so much fun making it. We made a second sign with other scary destinations. When we put them up, they looked amazing! Everyone loved them. Thanks for the inspiration. I love all of your projects!

Isaac, dude your the man. I love that sign. Dude you really got it going on. I would love to see you make a Haunted Village with glow in the dark paint for the windows and your Skeletons, Spooky Trees and Ghost. I would love to see that. Dude you are sooo cool.

Beautifully done. ! It looks so good and realistic. One suggestion maybe, The skeleton would look awesome if it looked like it was climbing the sign, the legs positioned to seem like its climbing. I think it would look soo eery . Thats all I pictured when you gave a closeup. Either way it looks bomb 👌.

I've made "barn doors" and two gingerbread houses with foam board (also inspired by VanOaks) - BUT I need to start using the type of foam board you have here. I've used white with foil backing. It looks like this is more dense and makes a cleaner cut. It also seems to be easier to carve. I wasn't trying for clean edges, and certainly didn't get them :). I am so glad your videos came up in my feed! Thank you for all the great ideas.

Isaac what did you use to carve all those Micheals pumpkins? Just an utility knife?

I used a hot knife like this with the blade attachment (included in kit). I drew the face on the pumpkin with a pencil then used the knife to carve. 19 Pieces Electric Hot Knife Cutter Tool, Hot Knife Multipurpose Stencil Cutter with Metal Stand, 14 Pieces Blades, 2 Pieces Chuck Sleeves for Cutting Carving Soft Thin Styrofoam Foam Making Stencils www.amazon.com/dp/B08XLRYGX5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_X5XXK7GG4D8V94S04S7C

Love the sign but I have a question about your pumpkins, how do you light all of em up. I made 46 spray foam pumpkins last year and I used the tea light candles (battery powered) and I hated turning them on and off. Just wondering if you had a better idea. Awesome yard btw!!! Josh
@storytime_with_auntiek3 жыл бұрын
Yes!!! I have the same question
@IsaacAlexanderDIY3 жыл бұрын
Trust me you’ll want to hear this tip. The trick is to use outdoor LED, flickering flame effect, remote controlled battery operated candles - now that’s a mouthful. I only have to turn on my candles once and the internal timers on the remote control will insure that the candles turn on every single day at the same time that I turned it on the first day. I have my candles set to be on for six hours so every night at 7 PM they’ll turn on and stay on for six hours. Here’s the candles I used: Enido Flameless Candles Led Candles Battery Operated Candles Exquisite Pack of 12 (D2.2'' x H4''5''6'') Waterproof Outdoor Indoor Candles with 10-Key Remotes and Cycling 24 Hours Timer (Plastic) www.amazon.com/dp/B07PFHMMC7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_K7C867GVH8D9FS6QWC4F?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

It seems like it would be simpler to do the wire brush wood texture before cutting out the lettering. Is there a reason I'm not understanding to not do it that way? Btw...I just discovered your channel today & I'm binging on everything. Love that it's not just Halloween decor that you build. I watch quite a few of these type of chanels & you sir deserve a MUCH larger following.
