For all the comments on that lady with her dog. My intention was never to make her feel bad or anything negative. I definitely didn't read the situation the same way in the moment. Now I can understand how she could have felt bad after rewatching slowly the video. I'm not perfect, don't claim to be and thank you for the feedback it helps improve over time as difficult and as defensive I want to get. How I understand or read a situation matters less than how the other party takes it. Have a beautiful day! ❤️

Don’t apologize. That’s 110% on her. “You’re scaring her” subsequently refuses to walk away and remove her dog from a situation that the dog is not comfortable with. As the owner of the dog, it’s her responsibility to make it comfortable. Not yours.
@LeoD.J
@LeoD.J Жыл бұрын
You don't have to apologise, you did nothing wrong. The lady is the one taking her dog out in public in the busy streets of New York. If she doesn't want her dog to get frightened by people, then she shouldn't take them out in public. Anyone scolding you about being rude is just being a snowflake. You did everything just fine

I once had someone do this with a 3 year old yes the dog is friendly to pepole but he doesn't know he is to big he will try to jump on the kid.

Hello Mr. Pierre, love your videos. Love your POV of street photography. I also love to see the transition from the raw to the preset image. It looks so cool.... But i would also love to see more things in your thought process in the shots. Something like the F stop and shutter speed would be nice to learn street photography. Love your work. Cheers from Portugal!

Great video Pierre, as usual ! I love this format! And hats down for responding so smartly and respectfully to the (sometimes quite harsh) comments your received on what almost became a “doggy gate”! I understand that some people may be affected by the situation if, for e.g., they own a dog with similar issues… but there is a way to write things down! Seriously, people need to chill out in the comments sections (on this post and generally on social media)… I have a reactive Doberman but before owning him, I am not sure I would have been able to read that type of fearful/reactive body language either! Not everyone is fluent in doggy language and we are all humans, so none of us is perfect and we all make mistakes! So all I’d say is well done to that lady for advocating for her dog and well done to you for acknowledging that you misread the situation!

Let me tell you most days it’s super hard to focus on him in action. For the the price that the A1 is - would it be worth it as the one and done camera? Hi I know this is late and random but the A1 sells for about 6500-8000€. It is a very good camera with nice resolution and amazing speed and video quality but for documentary I can recommend you to get an A9 ii as it can capture up 20 fps stills with amazing autofocus but it can only do 4K 30 with a 1.2 crop and shoot pictures at 24mp which is perfect for your needs and as it’s cheaper you can maybe invest a bit in glass

Must not be a skittish dog owner. I own a large, nervous dog in New York who gets jumpy when people approach him on the street and then I have to deal with his mood change for the rest of the day. seeing a lot of negative comments on here lol. Shaming someone for a lack of understanding/situational awareness is cringe. I mean yes obviously Pierre could've gone a better direction on what was said, but putting a doggo above another person is just NPC activity. Again, I think he could've asked her what she meant or why she seemed so frantic, or even asked why she was upset with him. He blatantly didn't realize what he said actually bothered her. The guy truly likes seeing people happy - you think he wants people to hate him? Also, I love animals, don't get it twisted based off of one comment. (Took care of my 1st Shi-Tzu alone for 15 years before he passed, rip.) Not only that, Pierre could still be accustomed to what his homeland of Paris is like. Not trying to defend the situation, but there is so much negativity in the world and we all can do better. I'd say actively hating on Pierre for one of the few errors he makes is just as disappointing as the engagement he had in this video. Perfect example of this is parents at little league baseball games. Chewing out umps that are there as volunteers or love the sport. We can't improve as a whole if we can't accept that nobody is perfect lol

Not gonna lie, when that one lady overreacted about her dog being scared (when she easily could have kept walking), it ruined my mood during the rest of the shoot until the nice lady, towards the end, was like "Oh, wanna take a picture of my dog", then I felt better. Lol. I can't stand people who overreact and over dramatize situations...

Love the videos man, but REALLY bad form with the dog and her parent. That's the kind of stuff that gives us photographers a bad rep, and you did it all for a total nothing shot. Do better, dude.

"dog parent"? Oh brother. It was like a 20 second interaction. He's supposed to know which dog is going to get scared? This guy takes several pictures of unsuspecting humans all the time, but some dog got scared for a few seconds and he needs to "do better"? What should he have done?

@@anthonysmith3450 I mean, he already commented on it and said himself that he didn't read the situation well. But he was completely out of line. She was very polite in the beginning and kept calm when he didn't understand that she thought he shouldn't scare the dog. Him answering "I know, it's ok." is borderline aggressive on his part. He just should have backed off, especially because the shot was worthless in the first place as the OP stated (he probably wanted an Eliott Erwitt imitation, but that was neither the dog nor the spot). Then again, I have to agree with you that the term "dog parent" is unbelievably cringe.
