the battery life in the r8 is still substantially better than the r5, r5c, and r5mkii. I use an r8 for pro level production, the battery life is not a big deal. If youre just taking photos itll last just as long as anything else out there. The r8 is the best mirrorless camera on the market, especially considering the cost.

I'd love to use the tiny printer; unfortunately my cameras won't transfer files to my phone until I buy a really expensive accessory that is out of my budget for the next 2 years at least.

F4.0 at night still nicely doable. You guys missing the great sensors and post processing (denoise) available. Are you kidding me, 20-70 lens at 4.0? You should've been born in the 60s and you'd appreciate this lens. If with today's technology 4.0 cripples you, then go learn how to photograph! All today's bokeh BS is way too much.

with dslr's and sd cards take as many photos as you want. Practice hand holding a 15 second exposure. Learn how to compact your body, hold your breath or lean on something, bring a monopole to cheat, just like anything practice makes perfect. I have some gorgeous shots that were hand held 5 seconds to 15 seconds.

Canon EOS R5 probably doesn't have face Priority metering on or off mode , Canon have Evaluative metering mode , if it detects human face , it will be face Priority metering . I went to that famous place that has Japanese Pagoda, Sakura trees and Mt. Fuji in Japan . I used Canon EOS R5 , it made my face bright , and the background Mt. Fuji was overexposed and totally white-washed and blown out. It seems that Canon can't switch off face Priority exposure metering. I am not sure.

As someone from California, I really LOVE the light in this state. I find it hard to shoot without it, I love the brightness of it. When I'm back east and the light is dulled by all that humidity I find it hard to get good looking photos. One exception is the parts of California that get fog, one can get some beautiful, atmospheric photos both in day and night when that fog rolls in.

When you took a pic of the Monopoly guy through that lock hasp, maybe use a narrower aperture to try to get the lock hasp in focus as well as the Monopoly guy. It would be more like a frame in a frame type composition that way, no harm in trying.

Good video, thank you: Metering: Even though modern cameras have advanced metering systems, I still wish I could specifically meter the brightest and darkest areas of my subject and then average the readings. Lighting: In many scenes, lighting stays pretty stable, and the subject's tones are consistent. We can usually pre-meter the scene and set our exposure to get consistent results. This approach prevents exposure variations in our subject or scene. There is still a lot to be said for shooting manually, it can be just as quick as auto, once you know how to exploit its potential.

My frustration is taking perfectly exposed pictures and having clients move to photographers who over expose. (real estate) I do flambient with fill lights and window pulls and still the clients seem to prefer the photographers who just crank the exposure on an HDR and blow everything out.

Man, the focus box is bigger in a distance that doesn't matter. At 10 meters, it doesn't matter if the point focus is on the left or right tire. When the subject starts to approach, the machine solves the "problem".

Number three, Interaction, is the most genuine and respectful way to EARN a good street photograph. By being sincerely interested in your subject's work, world, life. Fear of connection makes one sneaky, aloof, and elitist . The "bonus" tip works pretty well too... Namaste, my man.
