Why was he tapping the glass from the underside? there's obviously a good reason.

Always tap on the opposite side from the score mark.

@@broughxtreme The reason? No idea! I can tell you tho because I've tried it.. it doesn't work. It makes chips fly off and it won't break right.

Imagine something more flexible than glass. If you push on one side, the other side stretches. When you tap on glass, the shock wave does the same, widening the score mark and making a crack develop.
