How we got here: DOJ investigating Phoenix PD

As of November, the Phoenix Police Department said it has provided the DOJ with more than 147,000 documents and 22,000 body-worn camera videos for the investigation.

I had a friends mom who had chosen to be homeless in phoenix but moved into my buddies place for a bit. She had her nose, arm and ribs broken by them. She definitely told about times they would throw away the possessions of her friend they liked to target. They went out of their way to find his stuff even when hidden to just throw it in the garbage. Not to mention planting drugs and other things. This was 15 yrs ago she was telling me all this and it’s exactly what they are getting investigated for now.

@@Look_What_You_Did One of the reasons that triggered DOJ to investigate the City of Phoenix and Phoenix PD, was to seek to determine if they engage in retaliatory activity against people for conduct protected by the First Amendment right This was directly as a consequence of protestors being charged as gang members by former Maricopa County Prosecutor April Sponsel. Once the investigation being done was reported by Dave Biscobing, charges were dropped for numerous people. She was fired and her law licence was finally suspended for 2 years as of 19th December 2023 by the State Bar of Arizona More importantly they’ve also been interviewed and it is directly one of the categories their investigating. As well as you what stated in regards to lawsuits. They are also looking at use of force, discriminatory policing, and treatment in regards to interactions with homeless individuals

Everyone says well they have insurance. So, what is the deductible in the insurance? I have heard that it is $1 million, on each case. It may have gone up since the insurance company has had to pay out so much money in lawsuits. So, these lawsuits are still costing the Az. Taxpayers at least $1 million dollars apiece.
