It's funny you comment that, cuz I did the same on another upload of this scene and how much that bugged me from a storytelling standpoint. You can sustain suspension of disbelief on certain things, but it's pretty well-established the DEA and APD aren't total idiots. It should have been a DEAD giveaway that Kilkelly wasn't the guy the way he reacted. Both departments should have reacted the way Hank did after this scene.

@@nahor88 I think you can see that the cops and dea are so excited about the bust itself that they failed to realize many things that were wrong. One is Badger talking to the wrong guy at first. Another is Walt magically showing up and blocking the camera as soon as the deal is supposed to go down. And as you said, the guy submitting at the first little toot of a police siren.

I feel like Walt was somehow referring to his former life where he was clutched into his boring job and his 'boring family'. He knew he could achieve something greater but his work has been stolen, he's reduced to work for a crap employer into a poor job, and teaching to a bunch of idiots who don't get anything he says and don't give a damn about it. My point is to say that maybe this daily life felt like a prison for Walt. Jesse was probably too young to get such a thing out of the blue.

This episode also showed how much Walt truly loved and cared about Hank. He was suffering from crippling PTSD and Walt gave him a great pep talk. I watched S2 when it aired and it was amazing. Each episode just got better and better.
