The answer should be there * is not binary on any non-empty set. Can you explain this part, sir?

Your doubt is 👍 The ans is... In binary operations we are supposed to take 2 distinct values/elements from a set ...which is "a" and "b" from the set "s". If we equal a and b as you questioned ...a=b=2 ... it becomes an unary Operation not binary so we can't equal them...
