Very nice build. I want to do something similar…especially since I’m close enough to electricity that I don’t need to go solar. Do you happen to have a model number for the power inverter? Thanks a bunch!!!

Hi video looks awesome. I’m trying to set up my pump box right now with the ink bird. Trying to figure out the exact wiring. I’m using it with a battery so does it come out of the battery into the power ports of the ink bird and then the temperature probe comes out of the other two and then two other wires come out of the cooling and go directly to the Shurflo pump. Is that how it is wired. Or if possible could you send me a schematic so I can see exactly how to wire it. Thanks

I am currently working on a video with this in it. If you are using black and red wires you will need 2 wire nuts with 3 of each wire coming out. With the 3 black wires 1 will go to your battery 1 will go to the ink bird and 1 will go to your pump. With the 3 red 1 will go to the battery 1 will go to the ink bird and 1 will go to screw 7 screw 8 gets its own hot wire to to the pump

Glad I found your vid…nice setup…starting my research for a similar system for my 160 tap hobby next season…gotta use solar tho

I'm glad you found it helpful. I'm looking at a woods that will have to be solar so maybe that video will be here in the future

You ever make those to sell?

No this is my first and only one I have built. Might get another one built for this coming season.

Have you had trouble with your pump shutting off? I built one with a shurflo 4048 last year and most days when I went to check it wasn't running, I have the similar power supply to what you have and I'm wondering if it is overheating from the constant run time exceeding it's duty cycle. I unplug it and plug it back in and it runs fine the rest of the day.

No I don't believe I had that problem. It has been a year but I think I would remember that. I may have been over heating I mean that would make sense or possibly your power supply was glitching 🤷♂️

What power inverter are you running here? What is the amp output?
@natesworld81419 күн бұрын
I'm not sure what inverter it is. As for the amps.... boy, that's a good question. I've never thought about it but it's less than 10 or the fuse would blow. I'll definitely have to check that out this year

How was your season this year on the Shurflo? I'm adding one, my cooler looks just like yours, and I have power nearby so doing something like this. Did you have any issue with vacuum drop when the pump ran dry? I know Shurflo and Guzzler can both run dry, but are more efficient when wet - I'm looking at adding a separate line like your vacuum gauge, but with a needle valve and dropping the end into my sap tank for a return - to keep the pump wet all the time, but adjustable so I don't lose my vacuum. Very nice setup!

My vacuum was all over the place throughout the day. Sometimes, it was in the low teens and other times it would be in the twentys and both readings there would be sap sitting in the mainline. The other strange thing I had happen was the line would fill up and then it would drain through the pump then it would go back to filling the line. I don't have an answer for any of it but it definitely helped and I'm hoping to get a second pump out this year.
