Ya, this and the Thundercats show that came out in earlier 2000s both would have been nice to see the end of. If i remember i Think both shows had 1 more planned season to wrap whatever story they were telling and they just got dropped 🙁 It might be pretty awesome if they could get those teams somewhat back together to finish the stories now. Not change or Rewrite them, but just finish what they had planned back then. i don't feel safe with people "improving" or rewriting existing franchises anymore, i'd rather them just make it an Original property regardless of similarities. If what they've "created" is any good there shouldn't be a need to rely on existing franchises that get so changed and altered to fit what is written that It and It's Characters no longer resemble what people liked about them. When that happens it drives existing fans away while doing nothing to create new fans. How much money do companies gotta lose before finally figuring it out?

It’s mainly because they couldn’t sell a good enough amount of toys. Cartoons like these were made for that specific purpose, and if they couldn’t fulfill that purpose, then they were canned. It’s annoying since the next arc involving Hordak was ready and they only needed the go ahead to continue creating more episodes. I dunno what they were thinking when they made a storyline and animation that catered more to teens or adults then produced toys geared towards younger children.

One of the bright spots of all this He-Man Netflix controversy is that MYP's 2002 MOTU cartoon is getting some long overdue recognition. Season 2 was only actually half a season. It's proper finale would have ended with the release of Hordak. It would also have seen Teela become the new Sorceress after her mother died from King Hiss's venom. And Man-at-Arms turned into a Snake Man to make vehicles and weapons for a restored King Hiss.

The season 2 finale was intended as a mid-season cliffhanger after which the rest of season 2 would follow Evil-Lyn on her path to freeing the Horde for season 3. It was cancelled. Such a heartbreak. wish there was netflix or other platforms back in 2002, they would have produced rest of the episodes. Best he man reboot ever. I love how they developed each character and had back stories which made sense unlike the original series. Evelyn and faceless one, keldor and evelyn, sorceress and teela and her father. king grayskull and he man. veena and the line of sorceresses. everything was explored and tied together beautifully which made it perfect for adults and still suitable for kids. I still get a tear watching king grayskull die and veena promising him to keep the sword safe and when she is no longer able, she will find someone else to take her place. Perfect writing.

We know that this series as well as the Thundercats reboot and the first two seasons of Young Justice were fan favorites, but got cancelled because regardless of the popularity of the shows the main purpose was to sell toys and when that wasn't happening the shows got the axe, so it should also be true of the KS version, with the huge audience back lash I'm sure the toy line will fail too and hopefully the Netflix series will be over.

@@MrOrcshaman yeah there's no way of telling what makes or breaks a series, I just looked up batwoman and it has a lower audience score than revaluations and it's views have only gone down, but it's getting another season 🤷, but with revaluations we know there's a toy line and hopefully like other shows before if the toys don't sell they pull the plug on the show. It's all about money so we should show them where the money goes, buy up everything that has to do with the OG He-Man, the 2000 reboot, hell even the new adventure series and the live action 80's movie, but the DVDs, toys, clothes, books, etc., share it on social media and make everything related to He-Man trend over revaluations, show Netflix and Mattel which He-Man has the power.

Maybe just don't watch it? Are yiu actually upset other people like something you don't so you want it taken away from them? I thought the show was fine, not in love with it but not terrible. Much as I loved the original as a kid I can recognise all the good stuff I feel is from nostalgia not quality. If it bombs seems like it would make another future series less likely. The effect of toy sales probably depends a lot on contracts, Netflix only cares about analytics but how much does their money fund it vs Mattel. Plus what are the expecting this time around, a major toyline or just sell a few collectibles.

@@101Mant - if the rumours of the MOTU rights defaulting to Universal in 2023 turn out to be true, we might be able to get a reboot show with both He-Man and She-Ra in it. At the minute the reboots have to stay separate due to the animation rights for MOTU and POP being split. But if one rights holder ever managed to get both we coiuld get the ultimate reboot to the franchise... and have Adora start out as a villain fighting He-Man for a season until learning she and Adam are twins and embarking on a redemption quest to earn the mantle of She-Ra. I'd quite like Adam to earn his sword as well instead of having it handed to him with no effort.

This literally blew my mind! How well it was written & expanded upon the legacy and lore of He-Man. I get the reboots of today. They just somehow lack the essence of what made this one soooooo good ! I’m in favor of all He - Mans. She- Ra’s. Transformers. TMNT. VOLTRON’s. Even Thundercats reboot. We need to reboot Silverhawks too. DC will kept the Justice league alive. Young Justice was phenomenal But it’s these “outside” animated series that I grew up with that I worry about (I was born in 1973). Yes. I’m a purist at heart. But I’m also not too stubborn to appreciate change and modern reboots. Cause you can either embrace the reboots - that expose a new generation to your childhood hero’s (like transformers prime & TMNT did) or these can drift into obscure oblivion like “the centurions” or “space ghost” Given the choice. I’ll take inferior reboots. Than nothing at all. Kids upon watching the “new” reboot will google the old cartoons. Watch em. And get a better understanding of what they are missing. I get it. Some 80’s cartoons had humor and innuendo’s that would be offensive to some groups today - but kids can make their own decisions about what they liked about old vs new. At least they have a choice. By NOT doing a reboot. You are definitely ensuring extinction. It’s like having a child. You won’t live forever. Your child may not be everything you like. Very different than you raised them. But at least a “piece” of you lives on. By not having a reboot. You definitely will die out. In the annuals of time - and forgotten about. For that reason. I like all interpretations. You will pardon me if I just called this series a Fair Reboot. Also I saw this series and the new Thundercats both back in the day and liked them a lot. Watched both series regularly. My only regrets about them were that both shows were too short and that they should've gone on longer. Plus I would've loved it if this He-Man series introduced She-Ra and also I didn't like that the New Thundercats ended on a cliffhanger. I so wanted to find out what came next. Still a little disappointed to this day.

This was the show that got me in to he-man, since i was born in 85, by the time i was old enough to watch and enjoy it, i was already into transformers, so this series in 2002 was my intro (and as a plus, Cringer could not talk), and i'm so disappointed it never got a season 3. At least we got a she-ra reboot which i actually liked, but Kevin Smith's 'attempt' to continue the original, fell more than flat.

I absolutely loved 2002 reboot. I am still upset they ended it. They had plans to bring She-Ra into the story, and so many other great stories but they ended it far too soon. I wish they would finish it. I like the Masters of the Universe Revelation but 2002 reboot is far better.

You can't forget how much more depth this show gave to Eternia! In the OG cartoon, the planet looks pretty whimsical and strange, and almost no cities or even little villages are ever featured. Here, we meet the other sentient species that inhabit Eternia, some good some bad. My personal favorites of these would have to be the Andrenians, Buzz-off's people, and the Snakemen. Subternia was also always a joy to visit.

The MOTU 2002 version was way better than the 2021 version in storytelling & lore, fleshing out many core characters while expanding on the world of He-Man. The animation of the Revelation reboot is better, but the 2002 MOTU animation still holds up very well today. Its a shame that the 2002 MOTU series got cancelled has the creators had stated that season 3 would have featured the return of Hordak himself. Still, I would hold the 2002 MOTU version as the better modern version by miles. P.S: The 2002 MOTU series did great justice for King Grayskull while bringing a separate black character in Zodac. No tokenization necessary, thankfully.

The flashback scene in Rise of the Snakemen with Zodak is extremely datk. Zodak trying to save his brother and the way they did it felt so eerie as you see Zodak fighting to get to his brother and behind him is the shadow on the wall of King Hiss swallowing his brother whole head first with his dangling in the air.

I watched both this show and the OG HEMAN show as a kid (born in 2000) bc my dad got them for me on DVD and I’m ngl, I kinda dig the new show, especially where it ended, sure the marketing for season 1 was a lie but I liked the story they told and the seeds they planted 🤷🏻‍♂️ it didn’t feel preachy to me

This reboot was amazing
