I think I get it now, Board James started off just hanging out with his friends playing board games. But somewhere along the way James lost his sanity killed his friends and became the serial killer called The Hangman, killing people until he was arrested and sent to prison. He eventually escaped and has gone into hiding hence why he's always in what appears to be a basement. Feeling guilty and bitter about everything he had done, quits playing board games turned to video games and developed a new identity as the Angry Video Game Nerd. As shown in episodes AVGN Games, Video Games and more recently The Crow, his Board James personality occasionally slips out.

In the beginning, every character has to be off the red chairs before any other pieces can move. You can move any piece you'd like on the board. The reason for this is because you want to be able to kill that character, if they are on the portrait, or move the character out the door. However if you are focusing on getting your character to the door. People will know that is your character and will try to kill them. it's a strategy based game. Let's say you move a character you don't have to the door. You can confuse people and everyone's focus will be on that card or you can kill off one of your own characters to fool everyone.

This season of Board James, truly shows how talented James is. He turned a simple board game review show into such a deep story with its characters. We can all speculate forever. The big finale is coming next month. I think that Board James and his friends are all inmates for murder. Bootsy could just be in jail for bad luck. Board James' is either delusional or has multiple personality disorder because he thinks hes the Nerd. Hes imaging all along that hes playing board games in his house and being the Nerd's counterpart. They all think that they're dead because there in prison, which is common thought for inmates.
