Started chatting with a Thai woman through Line. After infrequent texting back and forth for a week or so things got strange. She said she worked In a jewelry factory and she offered to send me some Thai jewels through the mail for my mother for mother's day in America. HUGE RED FLAG. I politely declined and chatting continued for about another week. She then said she was visiting family in her village for a wedding and said she was going to markets and she offered to buy some Thai silk to send me for my mother to make a shirt or a dress. What type of stranger offers to send jewels in the mail and then silk? This was clearly a grooming activity to see how receptive I would be to receiving items in the mail. I strongly suspected the items at the outset or future items would be Incredibly illegal items or packages that I was supposed to not open and deliver to someone else in my area. No. goodbyes no pleasantries just simply blocked her, as doing so was in my best interest. Always keep them in mind gentlemen when talking with someone keep your best interest at the forefront.

I wonder how the culture became corrupted this way. I believe it started during the Vietnam war when GI’s would pay girls for services. From then, an industry developed centered on exploiting foreign men. It’s really too bad because Thailand was probably a paradise that became poisoned by lust for money.

If you meet a girl in a bar, she (and her bar friends) will say she's been working there only a day or two, or that she's only a receptionist. Another point is Thais will very rarely go against each other on your behalf. I spent ten months in Bangkok and have known plenty of Thais in California. There're two types of people I am wary about trusting politicians and people I meet while traveling.

Years ago, I read a blog post by a guy who lived in Thailand for many years. He stated that he would NEVER even seriously date a Thai girl. Why? Because they lie as a general rule. Apparently (like China) if a lie works, it is morally "good." There is no stigma attached to lying in Thailand. It's like a place where the rules of physics do not apply - crazy.

Personally I lived here for over 13 years and I don’t believe I’ve ever been scammed once. I’ve had ladies steal some small money and possessions from my room, but that’s it. But there again I never meet ladies online. maybe that’s where the problem stop. You can just meet ladies in a regular date go to Waze on the wrong for the problem. Thailand really is a wonderful country with a very low crime rate.

I been FaceTiming a lady from Bang Lamung. She’s very open about what she does. I ask about her night outs with the girls at the bars in Pattaya and her job at the Spa. Well I don’t really ask about the job, I know massage industry is very sketchy stuff. We were cool, but lately she’s been hanging up on me without saying good bye and she’s be online frequently without answering me. Very strange behavior, anyway. I thought maybe she has a guy out there now and she has to choose between the guy overseas and the guy just minutes away or something. Also, she gets very upset when I post photos of me and my daughter on social media. I don’t understand that kind of behavior. She knows I have two kids. @@resetwithrobb One thing that caught my attention too is she didn’t text me back or FaceTime me for 3 weeks. Not until I posted a photo of my daughter and I meditating at the park. I thought she was a Buddhist herself, but I don’t think there are any genuine Buddhists in Thailand. If there are, they’re probably out of sight and out of mind. A part of me still wants to visit and only 3 reasons I would go is to verify who this woman is and see her lifestyle. The other two reasons is to visit with students from our school and see how they are doing. The last would be to just travel and say “I’ve been to Thailand” lol. Other than that, I think one visit is good enough for me.

I don't know why ppl don't ask around about the person they are interested in. Find a 3rd party friend that speaks Thai and English and go to the person you likes neighborhood. Ask about the person's family reputation while your at it.

It lasted abt 3 months, I always had my guard up, had some good times, sex was alright but not the greatest… she was VERY concerned with getting knocked up alittle more than any woman I’d been with. She ended up having to head back to Thailand since her 6 month visa was up and… that was the end of it. She got annoyed when I told her I’d never been able to fly out there to see her… who knows what would have walked into if I visited her in Thailand alone😬 seems like a massive opportunity for extortion. Not from me but my family.

I think many of these scams are so surface level because there are so many guys willing to hand out money. I’ve had maybe two Thai women try lazy scamming with me. The one that I still talk to is a 25 year old Pattaya night club girl. Not bar girl, she enjoys doing it for free too much. But her requests for money are so lazy “I sick, I cannot work”. I just say something like “ah, I hope you get well. See you when I’m back in Thailand!”

I don't think that's because I'm smarter then others, I think that's mainly because I generally distrust people. When a stranger talks to me I assume they are trying to get something from me or scam me. It often just surprises me how naive most people are, especially in poorer countries like Thailand most people who sell something could potentially try to scam you.

I spent 3 months there. I avoided the bars like the plaque , because I learned through these videos that they are nothing but scam artist. Its shame. But thats just the way it is. They are dirt poor and desperate and you are a rich American ATM machine to them. And they are very clever at what they do . Most seem to have no conscience, I quess because its survival for them. And the real pretty ones are the ones getting rich. You can find you a plain Jane girl at a regular job , but sooner or later she going to expect you to support her too. I had one that latched on to me . I told her I was nt rich , just looking for a cheap country to be able to love in. But she obviously didnt believe me. Because the nagging for money was every other day. And she had a good job , home and nice car too. She was a safety engineer working 7 days a week.
