Some stories my Thai friend (which I have known for many years) told me: - Thai women worked as a waitress in a go go bar, had her husband worked there as a security guy and he had no problem with his wife sleeping with foreigners. Of course, none of them knew that she had a husband. Most of them thought that she was their girlfriend exclusively and she hadn't meet with anyone else. - girl from the go go bar found a good guy from another country and agreed to quit her job there and move back to her village. He sent her more than enough money to live there. Despite that, she found some old (like over 60) Thai guy with whom she was sleeping regularly. Then she moved to live with his son in his country. Now they happily live together - mother and daughter working in a same go go bar There is a lot of weird stuff there especially when you start to understand the Thai language. One of the things that should make man suspicious if he is trying to find women online is that she is not available (or partly available) during 19:00 - 03:00 (regular work time in the bars).

There are two types of marriage in Thailand the Temple or the Provincial registry office, The temple Wedding legally is not worth the paper its written on but is fully accepted in Thai society marry here legally and you do have 50/50 rights if you divorce ,most of the girls here know that and unless you're taking them overseas opt for a Temple wedding that Protects any property or investments they own from a legal divorce,Ive lived here 31 years and never married and cant understand Falang that come here obsession to Marry especially most of them coming from failed relationships in there country of origin and have no idea about the culture here and the way Marriage is viewed.

Yea. That’s everywhere and it makes the language so much more difficult. Plus, have you noticed at least some villages, I have no idea if it’s all or not, also use Isaan words or Thai Korat words or words from Laos for certain things? Boy, that sure makes it fun too. It’s a mega-difficult language.

She graduated from university and lived for a while in Bangkok so her accent is different than a lot of the locals in my village. well you can add me to the list of expats. just moved in today to my two bedroom one bath condo in Bangkok. mostly a Chinese area it seems and right off the MRT. easy couple stops to school. didn't like hearing about school teachers lol since my girlfriend is one. I'm not really sure how to resolve that except for I trust her. she goes to work early and comes home late most days too tired to do it much. and every weekend she's with me. I'm going to say I trust her completely. but you know the old saying trust, but verify. so I'll keep an eye out for anything irregular. she is more than enough for me. I don't need anyone else. The temptation can be quite high here with many beautiful lovely women sometimes everywhere all at once. I guess I don't really understand the culture of wanting more all the time. I don't understand the white skin beauty thing either, but I guess since it helps I'll take it. I know I'm still in the honeymoon phase of being in Thailand. but I think I have open eyes open ears and open heart. Following in your footsteps .... I will probably start be in Bearing area between BTS and MRT. I wouldnt over think the school comments. I know a school librarian at university and she has no issues and a great circle. Just remember Rob is reporting on the truth for what he sees and his relationship with his good heart to grow our awreness. My relationship is similar in she goes to work very early, can be back for 5:30 however prefers gym 6:30 to 8:30 every day and excited for me to join her. The trust subject is soem spidey sense, observation, how she handles herself, talks .... so a big ball however you seem to get a feel if she is true or not. For short term what to do monday to Friday in daytime for me is a question. I do not have interest in more, another woman, bars &/or alcohol and how many times can you walk a mall :) I like the progressive idea join a thai langauge course and will look for one. I went about 200lbs to 170lbs, studied food and body interaction a lot to develop my diet. Now very active in life with no gym so in Thailand will start with a personal instructor to understand gym more and targets. Just had complete physical including treadmill test, heart and gamma test that all came in good. Yup, in the honeymoon stage I am. I would comment on the wanting more to be careful what you dangle in front of the thai that could be considered a carrot they would go for that normally they would not have ( complicated however I believe you understand). On the whit skin beauty it is just how it is, I prefer her with no make up, although this fear of sun tan has an enormous payback of the softest silkiest skin everywhere, the cell structure skin matrix is different in asians .... oh, lets say I am very happy in that department. ... at my laptop so typing got bit carried away. I admire and congradulations on your adventure in life and move that many never take, there is some old saying "damn the torpedoes" that actually suits my nature a lot.

Polyamorous or transactional- ooh- not even that simple. That might be three videos . Not sure what to say. Giks are common and are Mia Nois. They hide in plain sight. They’ll be introduced to you EARLY to test your acceptance “this is my favorite brother, he helps me watch my kids”…. Thai women are famous for their jealousy unless they’re sex workers or maybe some other experience. The limit on lovers is if you get labeled a Ajo Chuu (playboy) I’m told even the angels won’t want much to do with you. Absolutely no nice employed or conservative will either. So that’s all secret except those close will usually know of the Mia Noi because that is so steady.

I also checked with my wife who had a 23 year career with Italian/Thai Company and she never experienced sexual advances in the workplace . However I know of some Thai bosses who come onto young attractive employees . ( Probably smaller companies) Whether this would happen in a rural education department is doubtful. Usually when on a work related excursions 2 women would share a room. If Robb goes along for "safety" it may raise eyebrows. I don't know if a Thai husband would.

Workplace no issues working in a small private company, however she picked a high profile reputable company and owner treats them as family. She is has an Arab beauty to her, a gym rat, at first in gym some younger guys hit on her and I can't blame them, she is polite and if that doesnt stop them her glare of disgust alone can extinguish hope. Point is, women time to time may get hit on, it is how they act and handle it that counts.

I know of Geeks in Thailand. One Geek is the Head of a Village who is married to a Thai lady and is seeing another Thai lady who is married to a foreigner that works outside of Thailand. The foreigner does not know what is going on but the wife of the Head of Village knows that her husband is seeing another lady. Talk about thai people gossiping in the village. The crazy part is when the foreigner came back to the village the Thais kept their mouth shut and the foreigner had no idea what was going on. I would have told the foreigner what is going on but then I would be the bad guy in the village for snitching and the foreigner would be heartbroken. If he was a friend I would have probably told him but I do not know him so kept my mouth shut like the Thai people. The village is like Las Vegas. What goes on in Las Vegas or the village stays in Las Vegas or the village.

ภรรยา - there is no "L" sound in this word. Thais often interchange "R" and "L" in some words in their speech, but despite than they would probably write word correctly. In order to know which letter should be used you can ask them pronounce by letters. Actually in this case it's quite obvious because you wrote it correctly. It's ร (ro rua). In Thai language each letter has it's own unique identifier. So in case of ร there is always "letter boat - ro rua". Unlike in English, where you can use different words for letters (apple for A or whatever other word you would like).

Never been an extravert either. I am lucky to have good genetics though (red hair and a full head of hair) and I never drink or do stupid things anymore like I used to. Bar girls in Pattaya are nothing to me. Almost no attraction at all to them and I will never ever spend a dime on them. I met a nice Thai lady around my age too and we had best road trip ever from Bangkok to Rayong then Chanthaburi then back to Ko Samet. Met all her similar aged friends in their 30s. Had lots of beach parties all this after one Tinder date. Then met another younger one in Phuket and we really hit it off then went down to Hat Yai too. So easy now on apps to meet people. No need for Pattaya ugly ones, you'll be at high risk for month theft and std.

It’s pretty plan even for a dummy like me to see. One one hand there a rather high standard for how a many Thai ma. Should act and that creates obvious issue for anyone different going through school. However- the tables flip by late teens or so. Watch ALL the community marches and special events. The ladyboys (the most-polite term here) are always in the front row because they rent to look the best. Just the way it is. So a lot of any stigma must be gone if they’re being placed up front and center.

I can tell you a registered marriage here has some teeth. They are entitled to half of whatever (she can successfully argue) you’ve gained / earned in the time together. You need to have a valid reason why you’d do this other than it “makes her feel better knowing she can clean you out later”. IMO

I did research that and I found the law is still proposed only and not enacted, despite Some reports it went into effect in January. And the Thai government has this far refused to comment on what incomes would be included in the tax. Lastly most clubs true ha a tax treaty to avoid double taxation which would potentially make any law moot. So I’m not yet worried.

I have seen married men with good jobs having mistresses so I assume it is normal within the Thai culture. I 1st Came to Party in Thailand 26 yrs ago, I had the Village life 3yrs I lived in the Village Near NakhonRatchasima/Korat " I was married " 03 -2014 My Thailand exports to U.S. company Owned the house where i leseaed the Land on in Jomtien Chonburi , Not very far from from Banglamung Pattaya ( I made the decicion) To sell (MY house) and moved to My wifes Village to fix up Her Parents Home and land They were old My Wife didn't want to Go back I convinced her Her sister was not a good help to them , it was the right thing to do , I told her Jomtien /Pattaya Naklua /are not a Good places for our daughter & son littlest daughter To grow up in .

Never a dull moment with village life! I doubt the fact that I got money would make any difference to my wife if I ever played around. I’d be getting chased down the street with that stick of hers and probably a few kitchen knives 😂 My wife will travel back to see her parents from time to time without me when I’m committed to play with my band, but living in the US for 10 years made her a bit more independent than the average Thai. Anyway bringing our new daughter home from the NICU today! She’s doing great. Long fingers for playing piano😂

Sorry Robb but that was quite a disjointed video. I had to go to the transcript to see if I heard correctly about work related excursions and promiscuity . So why do you have to chaperone your fiancee being away for a night on a conference or some such since you said you trust her ? You're afraid she is going to be forced to have sex ? Is she asking you to protect her? Are we talking about these work excursions turning into some kind of sexual escapades at night? I find this hard to believe when in a rural community this could easily be found out .

Could be because of your own insecurites as well. I personally don't keep a tight rein on my wife . It's her who wants to keep me close by. Now, before people jump to the wrong conclusions, the reason being she is keen to take care of me . Doesn't even let me drive . When she goes out she frequently checks on me to make sure I'm ok. She is 32 years younger than me. She is an epitome of good carer, not that I'm an invalid.. yet. I encourage her to go out by herself or with others when I don't feel up to it . If there is mutual trust we don't have to account for every hour we're out of touch .

I notice you don't emphasize culture much, more of relationship. I respect and and learn culture, I just think compatibility is more important at the partnership level. Anyways, you know I am Buddhist with years of Asian experience and study so perhaps I just don't notice culture difference as much as some?

@@smileoften-ft3hq I know as a Buddhist you don't have to emphasise something which is second nature to you. We regularly visit temples where she makes merit and it was me who introduced her to deeper observance of Buddhism. She goes upstairs to the Buddha room, daily, to pray . Moving to Chiang Mai ,a more spiritual city , instigated this . I think you got to find the right location to make your relationship even better. We spent nearly a year in Jomtien in a beautiful large (160 sq.m) beachside condo with views to kill for. But being in our own house in Chiang Mai, completely refurbished to our own comfort , was a game changer . She had her nesting needs satisfied . Maybe that's why she thanks the Lord Buddha every day?😉🙏

@@consulthai my first communication with a thai she said I was too Buddhist for her and not intereste beyond communication we had. She explained it this way, Thai are Buddhist listed on government paper only. As you know some Thai are not much beyond traditional merit. Back to today, for location we are in the explore mode of moving to Phetchaburi Province or Chiang Mai. My life was nomadic, quite mobile, and she is looking forward to move so can rent to try as we wish. Words elude me to fully describe relationship however there is this form of solid confidence that comes with sincere Thai relationship. I am often writing on my old cell phone sitting on a log or by a river so get somewhat lost in small phone display and time has never been linear to me since very young and drift into past and future that alienated me in ways. Now find acceptance in some of the moments in Thailand that can bring me a peace not found before. My comments and sentences may drift a bit? Will think about more laptop time write more respectfully 🙏

From a woman's perspective ..... Being an incredibly fit, young, gorgeous looking guy will get you major discount with the majority of women 😂 As for the very beautiful, very well educated, loyal Thai women .... They do the same as everywhere in the world and marry well educated and genuinely wealthy men. All of those I worked with were married to international surgeons, or in two cases, directors of large oil companies. And a couple of wealthy Thai businessmen who travelled the world liked to date .... Attractive, well educated, Western women because they considered them less likely to cheat on them and generally more appreciative (British, Australian, Canadian, German, French, Dutch were the popular choices). But honestly, this is such a spot on piece.

By the way, you were talking about how you’ve only heard bad stories about women who’ve had plastic surgery with the respect to relationships. A Panamanian woman I was seeing in the states told me about how Venezuelan women would find guys to pay for their plastic surgeries I forget exactly but the gist was they would do this j loop in which they would go back and forth across the border getting more money from different men, as they upgraded their look. Gist Seems to be, narcissism. It’s about them, not “us/we”.

The more i hear about Thai women and the prevailing social norms there; the more curious i become of Vietnamese women! I wonder if these social norms in Thailand are in fact "traditional" or if the Industry that has grown around love and sex in response to mostly Western demand, has produced an "adjustment" in what social conduct is acceptable. Or put another way, how much of the commercialisation of sex among Thais would be prevalent if there was not a huge Industry for "Professional Company" due to Tourism? Lesson taken from video: You are always going to be a Falang, ultimately the woman (or women) are Thai and bound by that as you are limited by not being Thai. Nietzsche warned not to look into the Abyss for too long as it will look back at you. I bet Thailand breaks lots of Western males. Living like "kings" by being kids, until the luck or money runs out. Those who stay would be forced to grow up sooner or later.
