Taylor Romano My bio teacher freshman year was almost one of the kids holding hands in the Art Institute but they cut him because he was too tall! (Lol) He also told us that his dad was best friends with John Hughes in high school and they worked in all the movies together. (He was the transportation coordinator/captain. His name is John Hardy.)

Walk to Remember wasn't really a "high school movie." yes, they were in high school, but it was a dramatic love story, it was more about the 2 main characters than actually being in high school, you know? also, these are mostly comedies.

Dani Peros John Hughes was the master of teen movies! Molly was his muse ♥️ Duckie got his happy ending (albeit not with Andy, lol), and Andrew McCarthy was my dream, lol... I was a teen when it came out. Add The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Ferris Beuller..., Some Kind of Wonderful... & the soundtracks were amazing!!! ♥️ To this day I watch Pretty in Pink regularly, one of my top 2 favourite movies.

I just love so many of these movies because they're really just modern retellings of classic novels. Like, Clueless is a retelling of Jane Austen's Emma, Easy A is the Scarlet Letter. On top of being good movies they're also interesting adaptations

At my old high school the jocks would sit together, the theatre kids would sit together, the musicians would sit together and then there was my group: mish mosh of multiracial, multiethnic people that didn't really have a set "thing" so we just sat together.
