Thanks for the review! We don't get hard water here, but I've been looking for a vertical jigging reel that doesn't twist line line a spinning reel does. I primarily crappie fish and this reel seems like a great option. Also not a fan of drag on top of the spool or at the bottom of the housing. I will be ordering a 6061 in a couple of days and look forward to putting it to use. Good Fishing!

I have had the snitch/desent combo for a season ish. They have a drag click and that and i have loved it.

Mine has a bait clicker…not a drag clicker. If they’re making them with drag clickers now I’ll be getting a few more!!

I have the Decent and Freefall, I like the Freefall more just for that little switch to let out line. That and I have a left handed Decent and I’m Right handed but still both amazing reels

Very awesome comparison video Josh. It's always hard to try and narrow down which one you like best. I love my Freefall, but as you said, I wouldn't go out and buy a 2nd one at +$110; one is enough. The lever doesn't bother me too much because I mostly jig in a shack or if i'm outside, it's decent enough where I can wear thin gloves or no gloves at all. I'm definitely going to invest in a Descent next year; maybe 2 of them because of the great price point and I may get that 6061 one for the beefier handles and solid aluminum housing.

You’ll enjoy both the Descent and 6061. I’m going to keep my eye out for a 6061 sale. I’ve seen them as low as $50 in the off season

The 6061 is my choice as well. It will last for years and needs no frills. It's a basic and heavy-duty design that can hang with any inline.

Comes down to preference. I like that they take up less space in my box. The line is inline with the rod, and doesn’t have as much line memory as spinning reels, so when you jig is dangling, it won’t spin like jigs do on spinning reels. The inlines also drop small jigs better

Not all the reels are built the same. “Quality control” issues. I bought 2 freefalls from two different places. One performs flawless, the other...usable, but always gives me issues. But overall very good reels.

I love the 6061 and how it’s almost completely metal but I wish it had the trigger feature like the free fall which one would you recommend to buy?

My favorite is the 6061. I personally don’t like the free fall trigger. If i has to pick one, it would be the 6061, free fall would be a close second

There’s are rods I made myself. The desent will pair well with just about any rod. I’ve used it on my power noodle UL blanks, my Light + medium light carbon blanks.

Free fall is meant for indoors. Outdoors they freeze up. Great reels
