Whenever it was possible, I used to take the JAL operated flights (Finnair-JAL codeshare). The food and service is much better at JAL and there's slightly more leg room.

I may be flying Finnair from Dallas to Helsinki so watching videos like yours to get a look at what economy seating looks comfort-wise. Can I assume you have to pay extra to book the seat itself? Disappointed that Finnair stop giving pillows on the international flights. Did you get a lot of sleep? I think your trip would have been all daylight because it was summer in the northern polar area.
@DAIKIFinlandLife4 ай бұрын
Currently, you need to pay extra to book a seat if I remember unless you have a specific Finnair status such as Finnair Gold etc. I don't usually get a proper sleep in the plane.

Hi Daiki! My family is planning a vacation in Japan next year (or when it is possible to travel there as a tourist). However none of us can speak Japanese. I'm a bit worried about navigating through the big airport in Tokyo. What do you think, can tourists manage it well with just English? I love your videos, enjoy your holiday! :)

Hello Daiki, I´m planning to travel with Finnair from Finland to Japan but to Tokyo. I´m afraid of flying and wonder how it was to fly through North Pole route, alot of turbulence? Low/close to mountains? Sorry for stupid questions XD It´s either that or through Dubai to Tokyo with Emirates but then i have to wait 5+ more hours XD, because i´m from Sweden.
@DAIKIFinlandLife Жыл бұрын
It's not a stupid question :) We didn't fly close to mountains, and I guess turbulence depends on the day, time and other conditions. They take a northern route or a southern route depending on the day. Enjoy!

Such a nice video, Daiki! I really enjoyed watching. It's so relaxing. And it's so interesting to see this flight over north pole, hehe! I saw the other comment about radiation when flying over north pole or the arctic circle in general but that really isn't anything a passenger should worry about at all in my opinion! (besides quite a lot of people live within the arctic circle all year long and don't have cancer). Anyway, super excited to see your videos from Japan! Enjoy ☺🌼

Safe flight, Daiki! Glad that you can visit home. It's a tragedy that the Russian airspace is still closed. I'd personally avoid any polar route because of radiation. If you can, please consider going through the South Europe route. Or even fly to Turkey/other South European countries first before flying to Nihon. There were news that flight attendants got cancer/leukemia after frequently flying polar routes/through the North Pole/the Arctic Circle. Anyways, I'm glad that Daiki is all the way home
@DAIKIFinlandLife2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment :) That's interesting info! I should think about it next time.
@annina1342 жыл бұрын
Interesting. I looked it up and yes, it can be more harmful for the flight crew because they fly over it more frequently, but what I red it doesn't affect so much for a passenger who is not so regulary flying over it.. 🤔 But cool, I learned something new today. ☺️👍
@Aidan_Au2 жыл бұрын
@@annina134 it certainly does more harm to people/flight crews who fly frequently. But would you bet your life on it? When you're very sick, it would be too late. You only live once

Having Finland joined the NATO the Russian airspace will be closed for Finnair forever. The whole eastern trade is over, that is the price finns have to pay for their government decisions
