Charles really prefers organic, home-grown food. He loves lamb, and as a boy he was obsessed with “Frickadeller:” Swedish meatballs made with ground chicken and served in a light broth. And he’s always loved soups! Diana was always concerned about the amount of fat in her diet, though she did like stuffed peppers, a type of twice-baked potato and bread-and -butter pudding. Fergie has a huge sweet tooth- desserts are her thing! William and Harry are both big on comfort food, especially cottage pie, which is made with ground beef (Shepherd’s pie is made with ground lamb). And William loves chocolate biscuit torte at afternoon tea. Elizabeth enjoyed chocolate biscuit torte as well. George is a big pasta fan of pasta and pasta carbonara especially! Margaret, like Charles, enjoyed soups. Anne seems to like fruit, especially bananas. Philip loved salmon- that’s true. He also loved a good barbecue and was often seen grilling fresh game from hunting trips at Balmoral. He was also a notorious nosher- often visiting the Royal kitchens late at night when the Queen was away on her official trips to see what was available to snack on! And Elizabeth also liked marmalade sandwiches at tea- like Paddington Bear! Meghan? Anyone who likes Filipino chicken adobo can’t be all bad (I like it too!)! For those who don’t know- Filipino chicken adobo is chicken cooked in equal parts of soy sauce, vinegar and water. It often has garlic in it as well.

The King has been a proponent of organic farming for decades - in fact in the past he was ridiculed for being what turned out to be way ahead of his time now everyone has jumped on the organic bandwagon. 'Overripe' bananas are in fact nothing more than completely ripe: the sugars have fully developed, and I can understand why they are more easily digestible than the underripe ones. Personally I prefer a banana to be spotty all over before I consider it ripe enough to eat, and I shudder when it 'crunches' (!) as you bite into a banana that still has green anywhere on the skin. I'd never heard of devilled pheasant, although devilled eggs have been a traditional British dish for a very long time - it's a simple version of curried.

For lamb, we usually used to only buy and prepare lamb for Easter. (You know, Christ is the sacrificial Lamb). But anyway, we would slow cook the lamb in a dutch oven, or large pot, with vegetables and potatoes. And personally, with absolutely no disrespect to King Charles, I dont like mushrooms unless they are neat clean white button mushrooms,that you can buy at the market, sold in a small square cardboard crate. It's disgusting the queen was brought up to eat with her hands. But I guess she is entitled to eat as she likes as is anyone, besides she's always been eco friendly. She can just chop off her fingers and throw them away no detergents involved at all. Yipeee!
