Hayley Honeyman’s channel has a video talking about having an Ideal Routine, Most-Likely Routine, and Minimum Routine. I can’t remember the exact title for the video because she has several good ones on the topic of routines. I’m an ADHDer waiting for more testing, and her videos have been so helpful in getting my routines together for my own style of functioning😄 Edit: Here is the title of the main video. “Routines for ADHD that ACTUALLY WORK!🌛☀️(Morning/Night routines)” There are several videos since that video came out that I found helpful for building on other parts of routines

I feel like the perspective of “watching nature happen around you” is so underrated!! I had a yard sale last weekend and when it was slow, I watched robins pull worms out of the ground. It was genuinely fascinating, and even more so when I went to google and learned HOW they’re able to find worms so well. I love that I’ve seen more people online saying to get outside, but what really makes me feel connected to nature is learning about it and watching it happen!!

Using a 'trash book' to collect sudden, disorganised ideas is a huge help! Getting the thought _out_ of your head and letting it go so that you don't have to worry about it interrupting the current task, and knowing exactly where you can go to sift through them all when you're done...💯💯💯 I keep a few different journals and going through my trash book to migrate that information into the correct journal is definitely a nice, low-impact activity at the end of the day.

Y'all PLEASE go outside, I think it's so easy to forget how beautiful clean air is. Access to clean air is a human right that sadly so many of us across the globe don't have. I'm from cancer alley, and the first time I travelled away from here, I learned what "fresh air" was (because that phrase never made sense to me). We literally get "air quality alerts" on our phones warning us to not go outside, and the summers are so intense that if I'm outside for more than 20 min at a time I get light-headed and dizzy. So not only is clean air access something worth fighting for, but like Shelby said, it's integral to being happy as humans! If you've got clean air, please go show it some love. It's my current goal to move away from here and go breathe in peace lol

I hadn’t realized it until you mentioned it here, but the benefits of delayed gratification are SO real. I got really into sewing when I had lots of free time my senior year of HS, which also happened to be when my ADHD symptoms seemed to appear less. I’m sure there were other factors at play too, but being excited to get back to sewing after school/work had me on my phone WAY less and I really did feel more mentally healthy.

As someone that works long hours, I sometimes find it difficult to get outside every day. But, I've kind of made a habit of going onto my terrace every day after work for at least 5-10 minutes because I have so many plants. Taking care of them brings me so much joy! Seeing all of the buggos and borbs come by and seeing what sorts of veggies my plants have produced for me really motivates me to get myself outside. Also, I read Tippy's treats as "Catnip and Chili" and my first thought was "oh, wow, that sounds like a cool combo!" but then, my second thought was "FOR A CAT?!" lol

I started doing autoships about 6 months ago, and it was a game changer. I was also doing meal shipments a few times a week but it's on break because it's bbq season in Canada and that requires much less mental energy for me - don't ask me why. I no longer have to run around, no longer have to expend energy thinking about items, AND i know what to budget for these things. Auto ship saves me time, mental energy, and money, it's a no brainer for my needs.

i love delayed gratification! i figured out recently that i'm very reward driven, and if i want to play a game or do something for fun at home, then i can do something productive first and that way it feels even better when i have the reward since i removed the guilt of not having the productive thing done

I'm so glad you posted this video today, and I had a feeling there might be an ADHD diagnosis reveal; something about the vibe at the beginning of the video. I was diagnosed with ADHD last year and have also been struggling with anxiety for my entire adult life (and apparently mild OCD, I recently learned), so welcome to the tribe of women who were left behind. I was on an antidepressant that was meant to help address the ADHD for about 6 months, but I came to realize that it had taken my anxiety and OCD behaviors to such astronomical levels that people were actively avoiding me at work, and I had no relationships outside of it. Being off it even for a week I feel like a completely different and much more content person. I am also getting ready to move into my first house (renting still, but a huge step up), and my mind is just on fire with these same considerations for productivity and general happiness (time outside, making things, utilizing sustainable conveniences that are available to me without shame). I love the goal of hosting monthly parties, and it's something I'm considering, too.

Auto ship is so important for my cats medications. One or her medications lasts a month and takes up to two weeks to compound and her other medications come from two different sources and can take a week to compound and ship. And because none of them were prescribed at the same time or for the same amount of time it is really hard to keep track. Most of these aren’t available locally because they are specially designed for animals so apart from her insulin everything is online.

Why am I not surprised neither? A lot of KZbinrs I follow actually have adhd - although it’s not their content and in most cases I started to follow them before they knew themselves. As my son has ADHD and I see a lot of me in him I will (hopefully, it’s to much on my plate right now) seek a diagnosis. Was in a counseling about autism two years ago but since then I suspect it might be both, because I have the social stuff autistic people struggle with AND actually a quite classical childhood of someone with ADHD and high intelligence. As life gets stressful with two kids all my „systems“ broke down (like working in the middle of the night, having irregular work schedules, sports in the morning, evening doesn’t work…). I never get enough sleep. I forget appointments (something I never did in the past because I had time to just sit and think about it). I have paralysis at the desk because it’s simultaneously too complex and too much of the same. A connection of mine just came out as diagnosed with adhd and I plan to ask them where he got it… I also worked with habits for making sure I brush my teeth or something. Actually since having short hair I currently just very seldomly brush my hair because it isn’t a habit anymore.

I love the habit menu idea! I think most of us really struggle with maintaining a consistent routine. Things happen and you get thrown off your schedule, and then once you lose the momentum, it becomes hard to restart it. My work schedule is such that any of my healthy habits have to be somewhat flexible or else they're just not going to happen.

It is mindfulness thing also. How am I feeling? What tea would be perfect for my mood? While I'm waiting water to be heated (and tea to become ready), I clean-up sone of the kitchen. This also helps with getting some household win under my belt already in the morning, making me feel better about myself.

My quads fill up with lactic acid and burn like no one’s business. I can barely go a mile on flat ground. My butt hurts so bad from the seat and I get back pain within 5 minutes of pedaling. I’ve been doing 1 mile 3 times a week for a month now and have seen no improvements. I don’t understand. I’m a very active person- I play soccer twice a week and I run 5ks regularly. What am I doing wrong?

If you have a good quality bike shop near you, go in with your bike and ask if they can help you with adjustments and (possibly) a more comfortable seat. If it’s hurting you to ride, your bicycle is probably not adjusted correctly to your body.
