Pretty accurate, coming from someone who lived 19 years there and finally couldn't take it anymore. I moved to Fort Worth, TX and I love it here. Way way cleaner, more affordable and just overall way better than colorado.

Yes, daily driving has become a big issue here over the last several years. Roads are very rough on the vehicle, people are very mixed in driving styles and very aggressive. You'll never be able to just drive the speed limit, people are always tailgating and running stop signs and stop lights. I finally got a dashcam and feel like I at least have evidence in any type of traffic incident.

I attempted to move to Denver, stayed 7 months and was horrified at how grim of a city it is. The homeless and meth issues are in your face almost everywhere you go. Granted, mountain access on weekends is great, but the day to day there felt extremely difficult at times. During the winter if you think you're close to easy ski access reassess that. Unless you can leave on a thursday and come back monday to avoid 3 hours of traffic, spend 3k plus to stay in Vail/Aspen, even Breckenridge, it is most defintely not a mountain town. The heat during the summer is absolutely oppressive. I moved initially for the rock climbing and granted there is incredible access. But Denver as a city itself is a sh-thole. It is not walkable at all, other than a few spread out areas. Worth a month long visit or more before committing to a move.

I lived in Denver for ten years 1998-2008; i moved back to my home state to care for my parents. I did travel back once a year through 2012 and saw changes happening as a result of; both medical and legalization. Appartment rentals in Capital Hill and Congress Park doubled and even tripled in some cases I'm guessing because of the increased demand. I'm planning to move back to work maybe at first for the summer months in 2022 and see how it goes, but i own a house in Alabama so until I know for sure how i feel about things, I'll keep my house for now. I love Colorado, I went hiking every chance I'd get on weekends in the high country or during the week after work over in the front range parks. I appreciate your video and the details.

The interstates and traffic here are terrible. Especially on I-25. There has been a desire by the politicians to keep this a narrow road. I-25 locks up at a whisper, so it is best to just avoid it. There are lots of other great cities in CO. I grew up in Denver, and moved out after 23 yrs. I moved up north though, and love it up here.

One thing that strikes me immediately about Denver is the forward energy of the place--it's unlike any other city I've ever been to. But I got to thinking that if I lived there, it might start to give me anxiety if I weren't constantly moving. Places like Milwaukee that are more laid back seem like they have a less amorphous kind of culture, even if they don't seem like they are at 'the cutting edge.' IDK that's just my impression. It's a beautiful city though in its own way.

If you're afraid of change move to the south. Louisiana dead last state and nothing changes, not even slavery and racism. Denver is #1 place for Entrepreneurs. If you into being your own boss and leader it's great. If you need a handler (w2 9-5) then there's plenty jobs too like Amazon. You can slave for them until you're useless and they throw you away
@billbirkett7166
@billbirkett7166 2 жыл бұрын
@@godjhaka7376 Your comment comes across as a little presumptuous...you didn't know anything about my situation yet you assumed I wanted to 'slave for Amazon and become useless and be thrown away'...that's a pretty arrogant and condescending statement. Just because I made an observation about my impression of Denver doesn't mean that I had been asking for a lecture about how I must subconsciously desire to be a racist living in backwater Louisiana, never moving forward with the times, lynching black people in my spare time and eating po-boys. I only made a statement that the pace of life in Denver seemed a bit fast for me. That's not a condemnation of Denver or anyone living in it.

What tech in Denver? The tech center is in Greenwood village and up 36 in Broomfield and Boulder. I've interviewed for a few tech Jobs in Denver proper but it's not really dense with them. That said the suburbs are excellent for raising a family. Boulder, Lakewood, Highlands Ranch are just a few of the great areas surrounding the city. I wouldn't want to raise kids in Denver proper though but it does have a killer Science Museum and Zoo; which are great to bring kids to for a day trip. No Cultural Centers? Have you been down to Evans and Federal? My wife is Indonesian; which is one of the more underrepresented Asian countries in the U.S. yet there is a large community of Indonesians. We just celebrated Indonesian Independence Day at a park in Denver proper. Hundreds showed up.

In 2005, Evanescence guitarist Terry Balsamo incurred a stroke which doctors postulated may have been caused by frequent headbanging. In 2007, Irish singer and former Moloko vocalist Róisín Murphy suffered an eye injury during a performance of her song "Primitive" when she headbanged into a chair on stage. In 2009, Slayer bassist/vocalist Tom Araya began experiencing spinal problems due to his aggressive form of headbanging, and had to undergo anterior cervical discectomy and fusion. After recuperating from the surgery, he can no longer headbang. In 2011, Megadeth guitarist Dave Mustaine said that his neck and spine condition, known as spinal stenosis, was caused by many years of headbanging. Slipknot sampler Craig Jones once suffered from whiplash after an extended case of powerful headbanging. Several case reports can be found in the medical literature which connect excessive headbanging to aneurysms and hematomas within the brain and damage to the arteries in the neck which supply the brain. More specifically, cases with damage to the basilar artery, the carotid artery and the vertebral artery have been reported. Several case reports also associated headbanging with subdural hematoma, sometimes fatal, and mediastinal emphysema similar to shaken baby syndrome. An observational study comparing headbanging to non-headbanging teenagers in a dance marathon concluded that the activity is associated with pain in varying parts of the body, most notably the neck, where it manifests as whiplash.

Listen DUDE, headbanging can lead to serious neck injuries. Adult headbanging and stereotypic movement disorders. Stereotypic movement disorders (SMD) such as headbanging, which are common among children with mental retardation or pervasive developmental disorders, may also occur in intellectually normal adults. We report a 27-year history of daily head-banging with self-injury in a 49-year-old man with normal cognition. The patient had no personal or family history of Tourette's syndrome, tic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), or mental retardation. The frequency of his stereotypical head-banging increased with anxiety, loud noises with startle, and boredom. He reported a sense of pleasure from his head-banging, and the frequency of this behavior decreased when he was treated with the opioid antagonist naltrexone. Although not diagnostic, the self-stimulatory or pleasurable component of head-banging, body-rocking, thumb-sucking, and other SMD may help distinguish them from tics, Tourette's syndrome, OCD, and deliberate self-harming behavior. This report reviews the disorders associated with SMD and discusses the potential mechanisms for these behaviors. The treatment of SMD includes drugs that work through opioid, serotonergic, or dopaminergic systems.

I need a bit of knowledge on the weather. My friend's always talking about how some homes don't have AC, the hailstorms can damage your car, and the general inconsistency during the spring and fall when HIs are meeting LOs and causing random storms more frequently. I love warmth. But I also enjoy changes in weather like a little bit of snow. Seems like Denver has that, and it will keep me on my toes. But I worry about violent weather sometimes. I am sure people are worried about how the weather is and never get warned about things like hail balls the size of a gumball denting their hoods and roofs on their cars.... And if I were to purchase a home, are the basements used mostly for tornadoes? I mean, tornado alley isn't that far off. I'm a California girl, more used to random jolts beneath my feet, and earthquakes can be bad in their own right. But are tornadoes something I need to worry about? Or is that fairly rare...? The stats are vague on that 😬

In the 80’s and before, you didn’t need a/c so some houses don’t have it. It’s no longer the case, though. You definitely do need a/c now. There are long stretches in the summer now that are sweltering in the upper 90’s to 100.

There are parts of the west side that are all Hispanic speaking. There are apartment buildings that are all Mexican. In the mountains too. So I think some segregation is good. Too bad thers no longer Italian neighborhoods or all white neighborhoods. If you mix cultures together it's bland. I hated living near Mexican neighborhoods. I wish they would just stay in Mexico
