Having hdmi connected to the TV during remote play does not lead to rendering two feeds as you make it sound... it still only renders one. But some people MAY need to disconnect their hdmi because PS5 does seem to have an issue where it leads to lag with remote play. I believe this depends on TV model or perhaps 120hz models specifically. Why some people say reduce ps5 settings to 1080/60 instead... but this is NOT necessary for most people.

Late reply, but the internal SSD you buy is the only way to play actual PS5 games (excluding out-of-box storage). The external ones (even the SSDs) can only play PS4.
