So the smidge of bad information most people are talking about is the 19.6% crit hit chance is a 19.6% increase of the crit hit chance the weapon already has. If you press TAB on this screen you will will see the weapon's base crit chance. Most weapons in the game sit somewhere near 20% and when you add the 19.6% crit hit chance module, you will see the crit chance actually only goes up by a total of about 4%.

A lot of people are using the Tamer machine gun. Crit mods are very good however the Tamer has REALLY bad crit stats making the mods scale horribly. aka don't build into crit on the Tamer, it is not worth the investment

The weapons base stats WRT crit chance, damage, and weak point will determine whether you build for more crit, more weak point, or just raw ATK w/ elemental

Many people don't understand that 37.5% Crit Chance on a mod doesn't do 37.5% Crit Chance! It doesn't add 37.5% Crit chance on the base of the weapon like the Tamer has 10% Base Firearm Critical Hit Rate so 10% x 37.5% = 3.75% from the mod = 13.75% BASE Crit chance on the gun! Same for Crit damage mod! U can check your stat in your inventory "Go to Info" Keybinds W on PC! You should better use the space of mods like weak point damage on the Tamer and invest in these type of mods! This add more Weak Point Damage on this weapon on the multiplier from weapons that start at 1 x . And u do more damage on BOSS like this!

Yeah I played close beta also on warframe and I'm Legedary 4 in warframe... The Thunder Cage isn't the Tamer, Thunder cage has better crit stat so this one you can add Crit mods.But the Tamer u don't build the same as an Thunder Cage.

Mounted weapons add DPS to ur skills of the descendant. Substats of the reactor add also stats to your skills of the descendant.

It has to do with a lack of knowledge with how percentages work and this is exploited by marketers and gatcha games all the time. The alternative health industry uses it as a way to manipulate people into thinking that actual medicine carries some super high risk and that their "natural" methods are better. They will say stuff like "You are 50% more likely to die of a heart attack if you take this medication." 50% increase from what? 0.35%? This doesn't mean that suddenly you are now have a 50.35% of of having a heart attack - a 50% increase from 0.35% equates to 0.525%.

Looks like you don't understand the crit and weak point modules. That 19% crit rate isn't an extra 19% chance to crit, it's a multiplier to your base crit chance, si it's only an increase of 1.9% crit chance. Don't look at that window when comparing your stats for modules. Press tab, and see the weapon window.

I made this mistake very early on. I farmed thundercage and used those modes. Then I looked at what it really did and I didn’t like the results. Atk recoil elemental dmg and weak points are the way forward.

I don't really see any helpful tips in the comments about when to mod for crit so coming from warframe the general rule of thumb is 20% base or higher is when you would be okay with adding crit mods to a weapon. Hope this helps. Good video and tips for new players

Don't mod for crit unless it's a gun with a very high crit chance... like the one pistol has 40% that might be worth it ..plus most guns are 1 to 2x crit dmg .. I have found very few that are worth crit builds

Generally building for crit isn’t bad but it would depend on the guns base crit if it’s imo 15-20 and up it’s not a bad idea but imo weak point damage goes a bit harder for boss fights but if you’re going to play valby then building for crit is good (if you didn’t know valby has a transcendent mod that increases crit while standing on water) best stats to build for general use are base attack mods, fire rate,elements, mag size and weak point damage are the go too

Key information for seemingly a lot of players: module's percentages work off of the base value and are not additive. If, say, you have a module that gives you 50% bonus crit rate, but your weapon only has a base value of 12% crit rate, you won't get 62% crit rate. You'll actually get 18% crit rate. So it's not worth it. A general rule of thumb is that fast firing weapons tend to have low crit rates, but slow firing weapons tend to have higher crit rates. Like snipers for example.

please for the love of god dont build into a gun just for the DPS number, the nexon devs did a great job doing the virtual calculations on the DPS increase but that is NOT going to be the end all be all for your final damage. The whole weakpoint is better than crit on the tamer arguement is already common knowledge but putting firerate on the tamer is not the best option, just keep speccing it for raw DPS and then use your elemental mods for elemental weakness and status debuffs, itll be better in the long run since that weapon already has great stats.

Deltia I would recommended always pressing tab on the weapon screen. It gives a much better picture. Also for status effects you have to take in consideration the status effect chance of the weapon (also in the tab screen). Also the tamer doesn't seem like a good crit gun. It might be better to stick to other stats

You absolutely don't want to build into crit with Tamer. You can see the % on the tab page, but it's so low there is no point building into it at all. It's all about the weakspots vs. bosses.

People need to learn when to use Crit and when not to use crit, understand that if a weapons base crit is very low, adding a bunch of crit to the weapon doesnt boost it as much as they think and they are wasting a module slot on it when they can do way more damage without it. Tamer is the prime example of a gun people are mistakenly adding crit to when its base crit is so very low its pointless.

When in the mod screen of weapons it REALLY helps to press tab to see the full information. That will be a LOT more helpful compared to basic info. Honestly it feels like basic info tells me nothing compared to what the tab info shows. And yes, elemental effects do appear on the tab info page. Though it feels like it may be tough to do, note that a lot of the mods get better in the last few levels. So like if it's giving 2%, 2%, 2%, those last few levels would be something like 5%. (I haven't really verified this, but it's what people have always pointed out on mod specific videos.) So I'd recommend considering focusing on fewer very strong mods vs a ton of low level ones.

@@kingosama9763 Crit things build on the BASE crit value. So, say a thing says +20% Crit chance. The Tamer's base, off the top of my head, is like 9% Crit chance. So 20% of 9% is 1.8%, so the new total is now 10.8%. If you compare that to something that has a reasonable chance, like I think hand cannon's are around 20% base. That's then 20% of 20%, so +4, so that's going up to 24% from 20%. A MUCH bigger gain. So, even if you stack a TON onto the base 9%, it's not going to be a good gain for the mod capacity you are spending compared to building on stats it's good at.

I want to point out that there's a diffence between Skill Power and Skill Power Modifier. When looking at a skill like Overkill for Lepic, increasing Skill Power will make the words "Skill Power" turn green. However, increasing the Skill Power Modifier will make the PERCENT indicator turn green and increase. The Modifier is only additive. Adding 50 SP Modifier is pretty ineffective for abilities that already have a high Modifier by default. For example, Overkill starts at 2760%, so adding 50% Modifier via a module only increases it to 2810%. This means, Modifier modules are good for low-Modifier abilities, and Skill Power modules are best for high-Modifier abilities. Modifier has also been referred to as "Motion Value" for those of you who may understand the concept from other games.

I think accuracy is what you really want in machine guns. I found I can correct for the recoil easily with my mouse, and accuracy is what helped my shots go where I was aiming despite the reticle bloom from sustained full auto.

I maxed out my Thunder Cage. Currently sit at 552k dps with 10 slots left. I use those to add one of the elemental enhancement mod. I got all 5 at 10 slot cost so depending on what I fight, I place the appropriate elemental mod in. Stiil have the 4 attributes of the gun to improve. Needless to say, my Thunder Cage hit hard...

A thing about crit, check the weapons base stats, unless crit hit rate is at least 25%, forget crit as it won't trigger often enough. 10% crit hit/dmg adds 1% to the value of 1.0 base. Weakpoint, here just don't bother. 10% weakpoint should add 0.1% to the value of 1.0 base, but some mods are bugged and only add 0.04 while the 5% adds 0.05.

the only viable descendant tamer crit build for me is Valby.. Her moisture module will add 20% CRIT to the BASE VALUE of the weapon.. so if tamer is 10% base value it will be 30% as long as you are standing in the water.. this 30% base value can now get modified by the applied values of the modules in the gun.. Base crit in total it would reach 50+% for a Tamer..

People thinking crit chance and damage isnt not the best mod is wild. It literally multiplies all the damage you do, yes it requires investment but once you get sockets modifiers it is by far the strongest module. So if you are lacking sockets types then sure other means of consistent damage maybe better. Weak point only matters if you are actively paying attention to weak point types. If you are using a crush type weapon on a piercing weak point boss, those weak point mods do absolutely nothing. This is why crit is the superior module on the Tamer or your go-to weapon. Overall use multiple damage sources, and use weak point on your secondary and tertiary weapons and ALWAYS add the proper elemental damage type to your boss encounters.

Putting weak point modules on vs a boss who has piercing weak point nets 0 benefit. I usually keep my divine punishment/tamer (my primary depending on who I am playing) pretty static only swapping out for elemental types. Then alternating 2 and 3 for the weak point types. I'll add weak point modules to them but use as many sources of modifiers to upgrade the damage. Granted if the boss is weak against crush then I'll swap my primary weapons to have some weak point damage. Going all-in on only x, y or z is not the best setup.

tamer has low base crit rate, building crit on it is a big waste of capacity. max better insight AND max insight focus only increase the crit rate of the tamer by 5.35%. that is 27 (or 14) wasted capacity and two wasted module slots. the amount of damage that you will generate by having an extra 5.35% crit chance is like less than half of any other damage module but it costs twice as much

IMO there's no need to spend them all to perform decent in hard mode. I've beaten all hard mode bosses with no catalyst on any of my descendants (nor the other expansion module thing). Just max those defense and shield modules and focus on reaching the minimum recommended resistance (via external components and flat element resistance modules when maxed, which give around 4.5k resistance) and you should be safe with any "paper" descendant. Now, reaching a high dps on bosses could get tricky, for that farm a decent purple reactor, get a Tamer machinegun, roll some good traits on it and max those ATK modules. The rest is just getting decent party members, which can be annoying at some times, but remember, if you're not pulling AT LEAST 17-18M total damage on bosses, theres a DPS issue. Hope this helps! :)

Applied values are not “true values”. You have to go to weapon info for true value. If your crit rate is 1% and your applied value is 100%, your crit rate is now 2 (1+100% of 1 = 2 because 100% of 1 is 1). Also. If your crit rate is already so low, wouldn’t you benefit more from boosting a stat that is already mid tier on the weapon. Like you wouldn’t try to improve the fire rate on a sniper rifle.

Energy activators work differently for descendants and weapons. Weapons get +30, and Descendants get +20. If you are still coming up short then it is a Mastery Rank difference.

To make it easier to understand, these additional types of modules are just made up! There is no such thing as other kinds of types of damage! It just calling the damage type with a different name. Here's an example. Let's say the devs want to give a total of dame of output at a total of 100. So 100 divided by 4. Attk:25, ice:25, fire:25, poison:25, impact:25 for one round, equals 100! I could call it soap bubble damage and add a visual effect, and it'll still be damage of 25. They complicate things further by adding percentages into the mix to make it all the more confusing! That will give scale to the formula. Ultimately, it's still a damage output of 100. They just want to take out your calculator to make it more complicated than it really is!

I mean if you are going to play Valby or Freyna then why not? Python has really good recoil, weak point damage and accuracy. It is made for AoE DoT characters like Valby and Freyna but because it is weak point focused you either need to be a crack shot or use it for bossing. I believe Python infusing increases the debuff percentages it applies. Not too sure as I am working on ultimate shotguns since no one else is.

Stun can be caused by Sharen and Ajax abilities. You'll know it happens because the debuff will show on the enemy. My take is it isn't worth it as bosses and colossi can't get the debuff, so the perk is no good there. It might be fine for elites as they can be stunned, but there are likely much better weapons.

The way you pointed your crit chance % was incorrect if u hit tab it will show you the stat on the gun. The one you pointed is the mod effect on the weapon just an fyi. Also you compared fire atk to firearm atk two different stats by far one is raw damage the other is elemental damage

its update so cant look im using thunder cage i only have bunny 4th reset and 5 resets on weapon f the gun hes showing its fine if ur a tank and u can stand in 1 spot but for like everyone else ur pretty much dead standing in 1 spot i have 3 second no bullets cost mod almost maxed and have 1 empty slot 378000 dps last slot will be 3 second no bullet cost on crit wont be maxed that way the timers wont match up i wonder if it stacks on timer or the are separate either way i shoot like 2.5 clips when the mod proc other think i want to know is if when using bunny and ur cd is low enough when u double use the skill does dmg double or just reset probably just resets skill cd finishes and it still going another 2 seconds or more i have semi good reactor crit with .1 skill length need the skill rang or crit dmg with crit thunder cage singular or fushion....i have the mode that makes ulti explode rng in the game is nuts i have 1 piece to ultimate bunny and its all ive been farming for i feel like i could max bunny b4 these damn things drop for me bahhhh still havent upgraded reactor and have been crafting the mats for upgrades the whole time god roll only ffs got crit blue state and 3 gold stats on thunder fire arm dmg crit dmg and weak point

I understand but if you think about it, its only a 20% damage difference. When using that weapon in hand. You either use your abilities with only that weapon or just get a purple one for 140% all the time.

Ultimate reactors are a novelty item. You can use purple ones with the same stats and it's only a 20% difference

These comments are confusing what MODs are just guaranteed crit buffs of 30-50% rate/buff base and what not. Been trying to kill the executioner for a week or 2 and I paid 100$ for the Ultimate Bunny and she’s not as tanky as I thought and that’s my only descendant nor do I feel like spending 1K$ on unlocking characters 😂

Love the videos. Could you think about doing one on mid game difficulty spike? IDK if I am just not building correctly or what, this is the first game of this style I have actually tried to put time into, but it felt like up to Agna Desert I was mostly able to finish content regardless of if I lucked out with a party or not. After that even with trying to grind out some guns and mods I just can't seem to keep up most of the time and if there is not a party for me to join it is gonna be an uphill battle. Any tips and tricks for that mid/later game spike would be great!

What's the difference between getting an element trait on the gun and the element enhancement mod?

Depend on what you need, thunder cage is unmatch for clearing mobs, fallen hope is a must if you play freyna, tamer is boss melter.... all base on situation, sometime normal weapon is better than ultimate

Ive noticed thunder cage is the best for ad clear and Fallen hope is best for freyna, But DO NOT sleep on the python smg, its the strongest SMG in the game.

Dont put critical into the tamer its not worth it you be wasting your shards use the tamer for boss fights so put into weak point damage. Use the thunder cage for a critical rate&damage build
