I finally feel like my personal style matches the trend in fall 2024 🤣. Dark denim, wide leg trousers. I wish I could follow your advice re: shoes. I have severe arthritis; the only comfortable shoes I can wear are the opposite of pretty. But comfort is a must. 😔
@anyat6863 күн бұрын
But wide leg trousers with a chunky boot is totally in style. I’m sure you rock it !! 😂

"Stepped into a teepee and wore it" LOL 😂 I bought a denim skirt that hits me just below the knee, almost two years ago, and it's been a workhorse in my wardrobe. I'm glad it isn't considered out of style. Thanks for another very helpful video! ❤

@@r.phillips6395 as dramatic as I am in these videos I don’t think we need to get rid of these things right away. I think it’s a transition and I’m going to still be wearing my joggers casually.

I have real Chanel black flats that go with everything! Invest in the best you can afford. I want to share that my well educated younger sister was trying to establish herself in the high end commercial real estate market as a brooker in Washington D.C. phew! Anyway the 1990's were tough and she was failing... Until big sister mentioned to Her husband that she needed to invest in herself first. He went out bought her an expensive breif case, shoes, bag etc. I helped! It turned everything around for her! That one simple change made people accept that she knew how to invest in quality that last. Therefore they started trusting her to invest their money with confidence!

You're not wrong! Though I do keep my cozy floppy cardigans for winter around-the-house wear.

I love the midi (really, bellow the knee) denim skirt. They are so versatile! That's a trend that started a couple summers ago, but when I saw it I thought it would stick. I am glad it did, because I spent time making one myself from an old pair of jeans that I stole from my husband (he had not worn them in at least 20 years - yes, we are pack rats).

I put my waterfall cardigans away or donated them. I have kept out two with fringe. They seem to suit my boho style nicely. I agree about the skirts! I always wonder what they are hiding under there.

So what do you put on in the dinter, around the house? A dressing gown, around the clock?
@TraceyJennings-c2xКүн бұрын
Me, watching this as I am wearing joggers, a tee and a Blazer. I always find something on these lists that I disagree with. I wear lots of prints so plain flats are good as long as they are pointed toes.
@NadaManleyКүн бұрын
@@TraceyJennings-c2x I’m still wearing some of my joggers too. The point here is that they are not being dressed up like they were. Also not vetoing all simple flats just the plain ones lol. I do these less based on what appeared on the runway which is an indicator of the direction that fashion is headed in. But of course we’re all going to reflect these in our wardrobes in different ways.

Thank you nada! Great video! I really enjoy hearing what you have to say. Have a great day! About outdated clothes…it is a new journey for me about that. I have been downsizing my clothes for several years. And I just had a color analysis done too. So my closet is quite small!! Hahaha Most of the clothes I have given to friends or thrift stores. But I have a budget where I can buy whatever new pieces I need/want. I suppose age can be a good thing for that reason. 😃 I live in Hawaii where dress is very casual! And there is not much of choice when shopping. I am exploring Nordstrom Rack and loving it. Thank you again for all your amazing videos!

I have to disagree on the plain black flats, and the fact that every piece of the outfit must scream you. Not every piece of your outfit should scream. Just like in theater, where a scene is created when one or two actors talk and move while the others stay absolutely still and fade into the background, an outfit functions best that way. I own a couple "statement" pairs of shoes that I wear with plainer outfits. This is how we did it growing up in France. I think the reason you noted that people in "Europe" (that's broad too) wore shoes that drew attention is that you only noticed shoes that drew attention. That's what they are designed to do. Most of my shoes are by design completely ignorable. They are ignorable because they are plain, so they don't clash. Also, they are in good shape and not ugly. Ugly shoes draw attention in a negative way. One advantage of this method is that I don't need to own a lot of shoes or replace them every season. Good shoes are expensive.

Question- ( I can picture you covering your eyes with both hands, and a half smile on your lips, but whether you are trying not to laugh, or rolling your eyes at it…??lol),…That last cardigan with the animal type print was a good look, yes?; and the heavyweight tees like shirts are good, yes?- So I have a favorite top (old favorite!; to me) with both those elements, but also has a (the dreaded ) animal spotted appliqué, and bold shoulders. It looks amazing with my black (pencil shaped) midi skirt (great length), and black leather dressy slides/mules. It also would be great with my black heeled knee boots. Think BR style… but not….- Your opinion on this please? Can this work?
