Use it to bolster and legitimize the roster. Give some guys a push. Before the brand split he was barely on. Just recently he made a come back and you see him on segments but honestly how many times have you seen the man wrestle. Long he holds the belt the longer the legitimacy decreases

The Miz technically always been pushed. held the US Title and then he won the Intercontinental Title 5x and has been a mainstay on the upper midcard, and has been in quite a few main events and is always called upon when getting the main eventers over. he may not be in the world title picture but, he for sure is one of the most important heels today. he's behind only Seth, really.

The Miz got a super huge push due to Brian Gewirtz being a fan of his since road rules. People don't realize just how big a push had gotten. From the time he went to Smackdown until his match with Bret Hart, Miz went about FOUR YEARS never losing back to back matches and had the best televised win-loss ratio of any other wrestler on the roster, including John Cena. After Gewirtz left, Miz's position in the card evaporated.

....The WWE really dropped the ball with Bobby Lashley. Bobby Lashley was speed, power, and technical prowess in one package. Everything seemed great in the beginning as Lashley mowed down everyone in front of him and Lashley won the WWE United States Championship, Won the ECW Championship, and was prominently featured at WrestleMania 23. He had the potential to be WWE Champion (The first black WWE Champion at that), But racist politics within WWE prevented this from happening. There were always rumors of Vince McMahon being a racist who refused to elevate black wrestlers; There seems to be the belief that the majority white WWE fanbase would be reluctant to embrace a black world champion. However, Bobby Lashley did go on to win three TNA World Championships and dominate the whole TNA promotion, So in that respect, Bobby Lashley threw a middle finger in Vince McMahon's face.

The man was pushed a bit too early, he needed time to build up to his character and get used to being the the top act. It happens all too often with WWE's/Vince's/HHH's Pet projects, they think they found their "star" and give them a huge push way too early in their career, only to find out they still some time in the business to learn all the in's and outs, to find their own spot or niche in the WWE. Look at Lashely now, he's doing great at other promotions. He only needed some more time in the oven, so to speak.

Cody Rhodes and Jake Roberts are my picks. Cody turned every crap situation into gold by his excellent work. Jake Roberts is a real head scratcher for me. Good in ring worker and excellent promos set him aside from everyone at that time in wwe(f). No tag or intercontinental championships either. I think his heel turn was great and like it or not, he was the best overall heel and most original of his time. Roberts paved the way for guys like Bray Wyatt to cut those oddball promos. Just a waste of you ask me. Those 2 guys could/should have so much more.

There's a huge reason Jake the snake" Roberts didn't get pushed any further. The man was dealing with some major demons, battling with serious addicition and really was in no condition to be in the ring by the time the WWF let him go. I'm just glad he's got his life together and he's doing good for himself now. But you're damn right the man was seriously one of the best, and brought "in the ring" psychology to a whole new level. Plus, he could cut some of the best promo's ever. But if you really want to get into who inspired Bray Wyatt...well look no further than Waylon Mercy. A lot of people forget about him because he wasn't in the business for long but you can't deny the influence he had on Bray and so many other wrestlers that followed after him.

All Ryback really did was bring to light an issue within the booking and pay grade level of unfairness. Wrestling isn't like boxing or MMA where if you genuinely lose, you genuinely make less money, what he said was if you're booked to lose you're also booked to make less money, even if you are over with the fans and he didn't think that was fair.

Him and punk felt that if you were deemed to be a heel there should be a better pay scale as you weren't likely to sell as many shirts as a face would. Carlito, Farooq, Ken Shamrock, Roddy Piper, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Mr Perfect, Jeff Jarrett. Some of them should have been on top of the food chain in WWE and they dropped the ball, either creative (as we all know how daft the guys in WWE's creative department is), Vince, wrestlers backstage or those names themselves. Ahmed Johnson is not included there because he was an abject failure from day 1, pushed too fast and the fans could not get behind him.

They forgot about Ahmed Johnson he started off hot slamming Yokozuna when he appeared on Raw for the first time, being one of the survivors with HBK at Survivor Series 95 and winning the IC title some 6 or 7 months later from Goldust only to get seriously injured and put into a terrible feud against Farooq and his Nation, then stopped taking care of himself. He would appear in WCW sometime later as Big T unmotivaed and put in a terrible feud with Booker T over the letter T.

His biggest issue was not just his injuries but the timing of them. It seemed like whenever something big was in the pipeline for him he'd get hurt. I have read one time he was gonna win MITB, but got hurt before everything was set up. He's talented, dont get me wrong just unlucky with injuries and timing.

Another failed push I remember is Cody Rhodes. He was brought in under the "promising rookie" angle and teamed up with Hardcore Holly, where they had a good run, then turned heal and had another good run with Ted DiBiase Jr. He was presented as a raising star who would be main event champion material in the future, but instead was turned into a comedy act with his "Dashing Cody Rhodes" gimmick and never really went beyond a mid-carder after that.
