Sure he was fired but came back later that year to become the most beloved wrestler in recent memory. Neither of these are examples of people who screwed themselves.

@anilate8 жыл бұрын
RGRIMM1986 Maybe so, but they still feel out of place with people who actually screwed their careers away. Those missteps are really just blips on their careers. Again, Bryan was back only a few months later and immediately got in a feud for Miz's US championship. If anything, getting fired helped his career. Otherwise, he would've been buried at Summerslam like the rest of Nexus. And none of the original members survived that.

I don't think "screwed their career" is the proper way of phrasing the theme of this video. Especially when Triple H makes the list.
@toddbramlett48198 жыл бұрын
+Ray Mabry yes how can triple h be even on the list, marrying the boss's daughter, possible next owner of WWE
@thomasjenkins75068 жыл бұрын
+Ray Mabry HHH was buried unbelievably after he did what he did. HHH should have been top tier when stone cold and the rock were, but because of his actions, he didn't reach that spot until after the rock and stone cold's careers were almost over. so yeah, i'd say he screwed his career pretty well.
@raym.7788 жыл бұрын
Thomas Jenkins First off, I think "buried unbelievably" is a bit of a stretch. And "a bit of a stretch" is a gross understatement. Second off, Triple H was never top tier with Rock or Austin' because A) He was a heel and B) He's far less charismatic or entertaining than either. Rock and Austin can pretty much do their own thing as a singles performers and fans will never get bored of them, especially Rock. (not to mention they're better at reinventing themselves over time) Triple H always had to have someone paired with him to enhance his position. Whether it was Chyna, DX, the McMahons, Evolution, Austin, etc his character always had to be inextricably tied to others to pop. Rock and Austin were megastars that transcended wrestling, drew crowds, and moved merchandise based solely on their name. It *took them leaving* for his position as a character to advance. And even then it wasn't that good tbh. And I say that having been a huge fan of his. And finally, his career wasn't screwed at all. He has more championships than either, a longer career, secured a spot in the company that allows him influence over not just the direction of the company but the retelling of past events (even those related to himself) and all without being their equals, at least as an entertainer or as a draw for the company. If you think that his career was in any way screwed because of that, you're either kidding yourself or you don't know what a successful career looks like. It was simply a short-term setback and quite frankly he recovered from it a lot quicker than others have recovered from their setbacks. People have been injured longer than it took him to resume his push and the fact that he resumed it *at all* is s pretty significant thing. It's something few stick around long enough for once they've been depushed. Examples of wrestlers who screwed their careers would be *Chyna* (Not being able to come to terms with WWE on her contract or handle Triple H's affair causing WWE to sever ties with her permanently) , *Jeff Hardy* (failing WWE wellness policy and generally being unreliable causing WWE to never push him to the next level) , *Rob Van Dam* (winning the championship then getting busted for pot, thus causing him to be stripped of the belts and ultimately never reach that height of his career again), *Bret Hart* (leaving for WCW, being used poorly, being retired in WCW and never going surpassing or even equaling what he was previously in the WWF). Triple H is not only a success, he's a major one. All the curtain call is at this point is a nice little story to tell about his rookie years.
@gamekeeper7778 жыл бұрын
+Ray Mabry Bret screwed Bret.(sorry just have to add that whenever possible, kinda a nervous tick, lol.)
@thomasjenkins75068 жыл бұрын
***** for the trajectory that triple h was on, yes he was. he had a short IC title reign after the incident, but his push wasn't resumed for another 2 years. if you don't consider that buried, you don't know what buried is. yes, he has since had tremendous success, but that's the nature of having such a long career.

it was never Alundra blayze's decision to throw the WWF women's title belt in a trash can on National Television in WCW. The whole idea was that sawn off prick of an executive producer Eric Bischoff. he was The Mastermind behind it because he would do anything to get ratings for WCW and never did give a damn about his superstars. the first thing alundra blayze did when she arrived WCW was that she asked Eric Bischoff what she should do with the title belt asking if she should send it back and then Bischoff replied "No Alundra don't send it back, we're going to go on live television and you're going to bad-mouth Vince McMahon and his company and drop the title belt into a trash can." and that's exactly what happened.

she still did it, though, Vince doesn't who's decision it was
@KISSFanBD8 жыл бұрын
They copied what Riddick Bowe did to the WBC title in boxing shortly before this. Also Vince had Flair show up with the WCW title on TV a few years before. He didn't throw it in the trash but still it was meant to harm another promotion by doing that.

I would never put Bret on this list. In no way, did he screw himself, or his career. There's so many layers and reasons that went into him refusing to put Shawn over at Survivor Series. Vince and his producers refused to listen to Bret and his justified reasons going into his departure.

You forgot Tony Atlas. Atlas was a handsome, talented wrestler with proven in-ring skills and good crowd connection. He also had a drug problem. He went from being a former tag team champion to a jobber to the stars. Then he was unemployed. The he was brought back to the WWE in the jaw-droppingly humiliating role of an African tribesman named Saba Simba.

Watch the wrestling with shadows documentary and listen to some shoots from Bruce Prichard. Bret wanted to stay, Vince wanted Bret to leave. He didn't think Bret was worth the money he signed him for, as he focus became Shawn Michaels, plus he wanted that money to pay for Tyson at the following Wrestlemania. Vince told Bret to see if he could get the contract with WCW, and even helped set up the meetings between him and Bischoff. Bret was pushed out the door, yet they painted him as a traitor leaving for the big bucks.

Great video!! I love it but I disagree with the Dolph and HHH parts because Triple H did screw his first run as champ but he even admit he might not of been ready any way so it worked out better for him to later be the top heel and have multiple title runs. As for Dolph Ziggler we really do not know why he is getting screwed. It might be what he says on social media more then anything. I have not seen him get injured to much compared to people like Wade Barrett.

Good video I would think that Vampiro might should be on this list. I was a big fan of his in WCW and he was put over by Ric Flair and Sting. I Don't recall what happened exactly to him but some how he fell off the map. I know Flair complained about him being stiff and I know he lost favor with his relationship with the ICP but I am not sure if that is why he didn't go to the top

If he had lived, he would've been the face of ECW, an ensured HOF status, and having his own wrestling school. Problem was, he worked too hard to entertain the fans that it not only destroyed his body and mind, it destroyed his career and everything he stood for.

My only problem with this is what you said about Dolph Ziggler's concussions. He might have caused the second one by overselling, but the first one (after he won the title) was caused by Jack Swagger. Other then that, the video is great and very informative.
