@@the195111 I did the same exact thing, after buying my 3rd guitar I told my wife I wouldn't buy anymore guitars except that I did buy another one...FOR HER!!! I played about 43-45 years ago and I turn 68 in November, but I digress. I saw a 5 string banjo for an excellent price and I bought it...and here I am looking for instruction ;)

Been playing guitar for a couple years, picked up one of these at a barbecue and I might as well have never played a stringed instrument with how I sounded. This is insanely impressive
@marcvandoornik2 жыл бұрын
Same experience here. Isn't it ridiculous how different a banjo is to a guitar? I had expected it to be at least vaguely similar to guitar, but boy, was I wrong!
@Sinnerboy8811 ай бұрын
My limited experience with banjo is it's all about the right hand.. whereas guitar is all about the left hand. Very little of what you learn on guitar carries over to banjo..and vice versa. Unless maybe if you play fingerstyle or something.

Well, the program is here for a reason. They're interested in the background and context. Otherwise it'd be a talent show. The performance is important, yes, but not the main part (it could be seen as one of the main parts, but discrediting explanations as "jaw-yapping" isn't true).

I had the fortune of meeting Flatt and Scruggs when I was 16 in 1966. They came through late one night and stopped at the gas station where I worked in the summer. They were in a black limo and were on their way to Cedar Rapids, Iowa for a concert. They entertained me a while with chat and music. It was wonderful.
