Been playing guitar for a couple years, picked up one of these at a barbecue and I might as well have never played a stringed instrument with how I sounded. This is insanely impressive

Same experience here. Isn't it ridiculous how different a banjo is to a guitar? I had expected it to be at least vaguely similar to guitar, but boy, was I wrong!
@Sinnerboy88
@Sinnerboy88 Жыл бұрын
My limited experience with banjo is it's all about the right hand.. whereas guitar is all about the left hand. Very little of what you learn on guitar carries over to banjo..and vice versa. Unless maybe if you play fingerstyle or something.

@@daleradeleff900 As an adult learner, you might benefit from checking out Josh Turknett and his “Brainjo” system. I’m 68 and just starting banjo and he is the best I’ve found. I had the fortune of meeting Flatt and Scruggs when I was 16 in 1966. They came through late one night and stopped at the gas station where I worked in the summer. They were in a black limo and were on their way to Cedar Rapids, Iowa for a concert. They entertained me a while with chat and music. It was wonderful.
