Katelyn is 13. She saw a grown man assaulting a woman in Las Vegas and decided to help. Imagine if every teenage girl had the confidence to set boundaries like this!
When she started with us at age 5, she was the shyest and most introverted student. But she’s been so dedicated in our Gracie Bullyproof and Women Empowered GJJ programs and to see how far she’s come makes us so happy and so proud of both her and her mom!

Yeah! That clear bold confidence made all the difference. People scare off bears the same way. What a great lesson for all of us! It’s like before the attack, the predator tests and judges whether the potential victim an easy target. Fear makes victims act the same way.

DONT,this is a lie,if you believe this you’re a fool. NO tween girl can beat up a grown man, give your daughter pepper spray. Bjj as a foundation for women is FOOLISH. In a street fight the last place a woman should ever be is the ground! Especially against a man! Concrete isn’t a mat, street fights WILL punch and kick. Street fights aren’t fair 1on1

First of all kudos to this young girl for standing out for someone in need . Its great to see Gracie Bullyproof and Women Empowered GJJ programs has helped her with confidence but Please carry pepper spray if your states allows it. There is absolutely no way she would have defended her self using Gjj Against grown man or in Kateln words "This huge guy" if he was serious about assaulting her.

@@kimberlylm8166 This is the problem. People see this scenario and think that this will work in most situations and it just won't. That person was just hesitant and wasn't determined to do anything. This might be giving people a false sense of confidence though. Let's thank God Katelyn is alive and well and that the guy didn't physically attack or shoot her. I took Gracie jujitsu back in 95 at Relson's school right after Royce won the first 4 UFCs, I was a boxer before that, I got my blue around 2 years in and kept going consistently another 4 years, then I stopped and went to other different jujitsu schools, here and there, rolled with friends and even went back to boxing occasionally, and I'll tell you what, I've had numerous street fights in between and it was never easy and was still a life and death struggle, so yes I do feel I'm qualified to ask the question, does promoting this video give young kids and adults alike a false sense of confidence that might cost them their life if they decided to be a copy cat hero?
