I started my musical Journey at age 12. My fellow traveler was my sister who was 3 years older than me. I started with classical music, Opera, all forms of music from Gregorian chant on and I never turned back. Now I am 72 and I have Incorporated symphonic rock. Who would have thought. I totally enjoyed the reaction and the interaction between the two of you. Thank you very much.

In my experience Nightwish has such a diverse fanbase. Male and female. Floor is such a great role model. Obviously her talent is out of this world, but her whole background makes her even more inspiring. Her childhood.. her passion for music.. giving birth to 2 kids... defeating cancer on the side. Let alone meeting her... her appearance will leave you in awe. Yet she is so humble. I'm raising my daughter with examples like her. Make her find her passion.. prepare her to setbacks.. be strong. Great reaction! Congratulations on raising such an intelligent and mature young lady. Great job on introducing her to great music. They are still together and just released a new album, Yesterwynde, last month. You should show her the last song from the album, Laternlight. It is my favorite song and an emotional ballad. I played it for my 23 year old daughter a week ago and halfway through she got up and hugged me so tight. Tuomas wrote it as a tribute to all those who have been our guiding lights through out our lives. Tuomas was inspired by the death of his Father in 2021 to write it as a celebration of his life. As Tuomas has commented, if one has lived a meaningful and fulfilling life then our passing should be an occasion for celebration, not sadness.

Hi, there is a video on YT with all the ends of this song from 2012 till 2018. You don't need to watch only Nightwish songs, Floor even sings from the Gamecube Game, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, "Sound of the Wind" , she did some other songs on her own YT channel.. and she sings in different stiles and different languages in the show "Beste Zangers 2019".

Introducing your 13 year old daughter to EXCELLENCE - that's a good dad. I've watched this video of GLS 100 times, it never fails to give me a chill. Good Lord, what a song and what a performance. Floor Jansen is a beast in the best possible way. Watching her 5 minutes with Floor every Friday during the pandemic shut down, we got to see a much more intimate side of Floor's home and home life. She's as awesome a woman inside as her voice and charisma are on the outside. She is an extraordinary woman. Show your daughter Floor and Henk Poort do Phantom of the Opera from the Dutch TV show Beste Zangers from 2019. It'll leave her chin on her chest. They do Phantom as part of a Nightwish concert from Amsterdam which is incredible also.

I don't know what opera song your daughter was referring to at 0:56, but it sounded A LOT like Nightwish's "Passion And The Opera" (not to be confused with The Phantom of the Opera), from the 1998 album Oceanborn - sang by Tarja. Anyone else noticed that? I thought that was funny, she knows some opera that sounds like Nightwish already :)) She should check out the song or that part in particular (half way in the song).

Jukka (drummer) had damage to his brain acquired over time from his animated movements while drumming - but he didn't totally leave, he just stopped drumming and merely moved back office. Marco (bass player) had mental health issues partially stemming from medications being mixed that weren't supposed to be mixed (doctors are human) and is much better. However, he didn't want the heavy travel schedule anymore. He went to make amends with Tarja (first singer) and they do a few shows when he and she feel like it. Marco also has another band. Nightwish is merely paused giving Floor the opportunity to be a mom and the band as a whole the opportunity to recharge. They've released a new album and will start touring again in 2025 or 2026. Keep in mind that Floor has released a pop album of her own. Tuomas (keyboard player) has side projects and has worked with his wife who also sings on a special project. Empuu (guitarist) will be sporting a new purple version of his custom guitar made for him. Empuu BTW is a twin.

She is a master in breath controle and technique 😊 She can growl like a man, sings like an angel and everything in between. She is known for belting out the highest notes but in a very healthy way.
