Imagine being a high school state champion before you're even in high school. For one 13-year-old, that dream is a reality; CBS2's Steve Overmyer reports.

This happens alot, but what's the difference between a 7th grader beating a 9 grader, or a sophomore beating a senior..NOTHING..very low percentage of kids wrestling since they were 5 or 6..most kids dont wrestle until middle or high school and they almost never catch up to kids that have been wresting their whole lives..and even they said his sister was all sectional team 2 years ago..they're a wrestling family..that advantage alone will get him to college

Since he wrestled at such a light weight, he can still challenge himself by going up in weight classes in the future.Hopefully he isn't afraid to wrestle people bigger than him. I grew up wrestling against larger wrestlers, but the lighter wrestlers including the state champions refused to wrestle me because I was so much stronger than them. Had they wrestled me, it would have benefited both of us because they would learn how to wrestle against stronger wrestlers and I would finally get the experience of wrestling against wrestlers almost as fast as me.
