This happens alot, but what's the difference between a 7th grader beating a 9 grader, or a sophomore beating a senior..NOTHING..very low percentage of kids wrestling since they were 5 or 6..most kids dont wrestle until middle or high school and they almost never catch up to kids that have been wresting their whole lives..and even they said his sister was all sectional team 2 years ago..they're a wrestling family..that advantage alone will get him to college

The next year after a growth spurt he quit wrestling because he was getting mauled in the 120 lbs class & lost his 1st 13 matches.

Since he wrestled at such a light weight, he can still challenge himself by going up in weight classes in the future.Hopefully he isn't afraid to wrestle people bigger than him. I grew up wrestling against larger wrestlers, but the lighter wrestlers including the state champions refused to wrestle me because I was so much stronger than them. Had they wrestled me, it would have benefited both of us because they would learn how to wrestle against stronger wrestlers and I would finally get the experience of wrestling against wrestlers almost as fast as me.

Indiana used to have a 95# then 103# ,112# etc for many years, not sure when we did away with 95# sometime in 90's I guess. Anyway we had it for many years. and there were some really good ones. One thing we have never allowed is to permit middle school to complete on a high school level.

just in some states allow it if you’re exceptional. Happens in individual sports like wrestling and tennis mostly. Sometimes basketball. The kid went undefeated, so it’s not like he didn’t belong.

CA doesn’t even have a 99lb div.. they start at 103’s... how many high school wrestlers above sophomore can make that weight... still pretty crazy tho I guess

Great, lucky guy. I salute you. I could get jealous. In January 2020, when I was only 10 years old I became state champion for the 5th time and nobody cares. Not allowing a point score in all these championships. But when I walk through school no one pats me on the shoulder or wants an autograph. Nobody appreciates this sport here in Germany. No TV station will report about me, no local newspaper will write about me. Only football counts. But a real wrestler doesn't do it for fame or fortune. (Mr. Miyagi‘s words????)

Born in May 2009, I won the state championships in freestyle in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020. In January 2020, I additionally won the championship in Greco. Now do the math. That was the 5th title 4 months before I turned 11. Since then there were no championships in my state because of Corona. Ahhh. Ok ;-)

@@JayRachui what"state in Germany" did you become a 5 time state Champion? By the age of ten? And nobody scored on you?

Hello Aaron, the state is called Saxony-Anhalt. 1 of 16 states in Germany. None of my opponents could score against me. The result of all championships won is 206:0 technical points. Obviously I didn‘t do everything wrong. :-/

Including all the tournament matches its not hard for lots of schools to get kids over 40 matches. Top ranked kid in my weight class at states was a kid named TJ and he was 49-0 going into his finals match. That means 50 matches that season.

Kai Ho bruh sorry you don’t wrestle but I do. In wrestling coaches don’t decide who starts, the wrestlers get to wrestle it out to see who starts. In team sports you have politics and the coach plays who he likes. Some of the best players might be on the bench. Why do you think so many athletes transfer schools??
