Hell yeah. This dude is one of the original pioneers of 2jz performance. He was teamed up with Vinny Ten from the Performance Factory in Queens, N.Y. He had the 1st 2jz swap in country back in 1995 in a 3rd Gen Supra. They were the first to go from 12-9's. He is one the original pioneers of import drag racing. Performance Factory and Rally Performance was the go to shop for Supras. Lastly the Eric and Marc from Twins Turbo used to work with him and Vinny. Damn. Im glad to see he is still around doing his thing

I get it if boosted in some way, but any one that just swaps in an NA V8, it makes no sense and probably would be less reliable. The LS' are easier to tune though. The S54 is not a solid motor and it's not even particularly expensive for what it is if you blow it up. So I dont get why you'd spend over 10k swapping in the V8 without boost

Idk the e36 with th s52b30 the euro itb engine is so sick. But I'd agree if it was us spec options only. But when it comes to turboing bmw engines nothing tops the m52 (the e36 328 engine)

Super sick!!! Love see it. My pops was the first to make 1000whp with a m52 in 06 - 07 running a bottom mount 80mm . It was a 4 door e36 and best time at the track was 9.9 at 161 mph. Never wanted to run faster cause pops refused to run a chute on a street car 🤣

The turbo is so big, it looks like they could have gone a bit smaller with it and still make 1300hp especially that the BMW cylinder head flows pretty well. Edit: finished the vid, owner has 3 turbos for it depending on the mood

The block is a bit weaker in the s54 I think the limit is like 900whp before they start cracking and the compression is too high 11.5 to 1 compression ratio you're limited to about 8psi of boost unless you fully build the block with forged bits that runs about 6 grand. 2jzs you can slap a big turbo and turn up the boost to about 25psi on stock components the s54 will crack pistons at anything above 8-12psi stock.
