Thank you for the video! The reason for Malignance is that it is WAY more powerful at 1-2 items + boots, and only starts to get outscaled by Blackfire at maybe 4+ items (that is also only if the enemy can build enough MR). However most games are decided much earlier than that, especially in higher elos. There are only two cases where I would go Blackfire instead: 1. Laning against a tank (say Mundo/Sion/Galio) that will get MR early enough for your mpen to lose its value. 2. Mercs being too strong against the enemy team + you're unable to realistically get to use your ult on cd (say enemy mid is Hwei/Syndra/Xerath and they also have Leona/Rakan + Seju/Elise). This is because I think you shouldn't combine Malignance with anything other than mpen boots. The playstyle of this build can be somewhat different though, as you're more incentivized to use R on squishier targets and your damage is also much more dependent on having it available.

Great video! I try to watch a lot of Malzahar replays for tough match-ups (DomisumReplay: Malzahar) but the difference between watching a spectator replay and a POV replay is like night and day. You can get an idea how to play certain match-ups from normal replays but good habits, camera control, mouse movement and so much other small details you simply NEED a POV. Any more of this type of content would be greatly appreciated!

From what I gather in my research, blackfire torch simply doesn't put up good numbers against tanks because the burn is a fixed number. Liandry's is just the better tank killing item. Malignance allows for much more aggressive ults, which enable more kills over poking with burn damage.

Had a blast watching this video, your commentary is top tier too mojo! Peak entertainment and educational. What i personally took from this is his early laning, he really knows when to chill and just absorb EXP. I sometimes struggle with this and go for last hits when i just can't. But tbh the guy just excels at everything, rlly solid! I wish he would upload more POV gameplays hahaha

I think the reason he goes for the adc in this situation is that the enemy has a lot of lockdown abilities that allows the MF to do her max amount of dmg with ult so, since Malz is an anti-carrry, he assures that the carry does not get their way. Another thing I noticed is the leveling. I tend to max w cause I like doing damage while the enemy is suppressed, but maxing q against a champion that can instantly clear your minions is a smart move. I still don't understand why this player does not max stack w first before using it however

So when you play Malz next keep an eye on your voidling stacks. Casting an ability gives you one stack, which when you cast W consumes all stacks to generate extra voidlings. So there’s an element to managing your stacks and when to cast W to maxasmise the number of voidings spawned which can help kill an enemy or take plates
