If this boat has not been sold by now then I'll be astounded. What an excellent vessel, and for a relatively low price too, wow. A pity I'm not ready to make the move yet.

It seems to still be up for sale. It’s a small market these very specific exploration yachts. But I agree that this one shows incredible value for money for the right owner.

Don't get too enamoured about where the boat has gone. That means you need a good surveyor to check it on the hard. If that checks out, it might be worth the money.
@frankmiller95Ай бұрын
Exactly. Lots of clueless wannabees on this thread. A fifty year old boat, Corten steel hull or otherwise is still a fifty year old boat. lf she had a recent refit by an established, top quality yard that specializes in steel hulls and all systems had been checked, overhauled or replaced as necessary, there is no way the price would be this low. As a former, professional, offshore sailor and Class A licensed deck officer, there's no way l'd even look at this boat without overhaul receipts from A&R or Huisman. Something (might be) rotten in Denmark.

I would suggest you pick a side eg starboard....go all the way up then all the way back on other side. Pity about the lighting cos it looks like a nice boat......

The engine compartment was accessible when the engine was replaced, so no wonder it looks good. How about the rest of the bilge under the boards.. Also the interesting drive shaft with a chain, lots of bearings. Can the prop shaft be accessed from inside, e.g. to tighten the stuffing box.? I would also have expexted fixed guardrails and more ventilators.

Assuming she has a good AUDIOGAUGE report, 130k is outrageously low. If she had some suspect areas they can easily be repaired at a reputable yard that knows steel. Lets say you have a 75k yard bill- you would still be ahead of the game

What are the living accommodations of this boat?
@BoatlifeisbestАй бұрын
The boat is set up for chartering with a snug double berth behind a door and pilot berths in the saloon. But the interior can be modified to accommodate a cruising couple and have more storage space.
@jameskeith9311Ай бұрын
@@Boatlifeisbest I would be interested in converting to at least 6 individuals or 3 couples. Is that feasible? More than modest accommodations? Thank you for your respond. I appreciate your attention. Have a great day.

I believe the boat has been sold already. It would be quite some work to convert it into 3 private cabins. But it could probably be done by converting the storage area in the bow into a single or double cabin, maybe with bunks.

This boat is almost 50 years old. Corten steel hull notwithstanding, no matter how good it might look in the video, it would still need to pass a rigorous and extensive survey by a highly skilled marine surveyor before being taken offshore. Without that, or detailed documentation of an extensive recent refit, no thanks.

Definitely always recommend using a knowledgeable marine surveyor before buying any bigger boat. This boat has been sold tough, to a new and happy owner.

@@ryananthony6416 why is it that you consider his feedback as negative? I read it has positive and helpful as I experienced the same in this video and would love to see the poster benefit from improving. Even the poster took it as a positive. @sterlingarcher1962 negative wasn't the best choice of word. But I disagree with the comment, I thought the tour was great , and I personally did not struggle to follow. So the comment I thought was unnecessary. When someone takes the time to film and narrate a tour of an interesting boat, then post in the public domain so that others can watch for FREE. They are not necessarily asking for feedback from random strangers. They might ask for feedback from a family member or friend. People these days have this ridiculous standard for videos, too fast, not in frame, too much wind noise, the lost goes on... I'll give you some advice since you decided to give me some Sterling Archer, genuine positive encouragement goes a lot further than some critical feedback that took someone 20 seconds to write, in response to a video that probably took the creator multiple days to make. I do plenty of self reflection, and am very happy where I am at thank you haha.
