Tell me about it! I just took it out to look again, and the colour blends are really good even for the time!

This Yutyrannus looks so organic! I did a review on the safari ltd version along with a Yutyrannus skull from rebor - really I should have waited! I didn't know PNSO were going to be this productive!

You can't 'trust' PNSO these days lol. Just when you think it's safe to go back to the wallet...

Great review on such a nice yutyrannus! I honestly like the safari LTD yutyrannus better for two reasons, for starters we don’t know the true color of yutyrannus (which i wont be surprised if we do soon) but my guess on what color the yutyrannus was is white (just like the safari) because it lived in the snow and it could camouflage, and 2nd i like the quills on the neck 🪶 i cannot picture yutyrannus without quills…. It just looks so damn cool 😎

The Safari Ltd definitely has a nice colour scheme and it makes sense, since one reason suggested for Yutyrannus' feathers were insulation from the cold. I actually don't have a single Yutyrannus, so this is my first and only. I actually think that it's great that there are some genera for which people still prefer their Safaris. I have a great sense of nostalgia for Safari Ltd, and if only they got their paint apps up to standard to match their sculpts, they would be strong contenders too. Plus, it really does help to save money!

Not unusual, but I actually wasn’t all that interested in this one until your review. Thanks for all of the great information.

You're welcome! This has really grown on me, not just because of the feathers, which I was really excited to see, but also because of the paint applications, which really put the exclamation point on. It helps that the scale is roughly the same as the other tyrannosaurs too!

If you like PNSOs feathers check out their Microraptor. That figure is INSANE and is one of my favs

Thanks Rajitha... but don't wait too long! Later runs usually aren't as well painted!

True that. But still this figure will cost me more than my one months salary. So first I must collect and then proceed. Let's see.. Hopefully i will get this pretty soon. And thank you for the tip

I love this guy! The tongue thing is very weird, especially with other dinos they've done but I love myself a fluffy dino! I hope they do more fluffy dinos in the future!

I have no doubt they'll eventually get to the maniraptorans for sure, so hang on! If they continue to give us Chinese offerings, then Beipiaosaurus is one I'm looking forward to!

How do you think the PNSO Yutyrannus compares with the upcoming BotM version?
@DinosDragons3 жыл бұрын
I think that would not be a fair comparison. The BotM's main focus is on articulation, and they swap a lot of the same parts to keep economical, so there will be compromises made. I like the proposed BotM colouration of the Yutyrannus. But the paint apps will not be as good as on a model that isn't posebale, smaller, and doesn't have to worry about paint being scratched off by repeated posing 😁 For what it is, is is very very good balancing a poseable toy with a science-based model.

this must've been hell to sculpt
@DinosDragons3 жыл бұрын
Definitely not easy, and proof that if PNSO wanted, they could render high quality feathered dinosaurs! I wonder which feathered dinosaur they'll do next. I'm hoping for Beipiaosaurus.
