I can't say how excited I am while clicking in this video, I've been waiting for this review for some time now. And as usual, you never disappoint! This figure in my opinion is certainly better than the hlg Baryonyx, but the paintwork they've put in to this figure is almost too similar to the Saurophaganax or the Cameron Tyrannosaurus to me. Even though it's definitely better than the original prototype, I'd still wanted a little more of some color variants to this model. But this review is definitely top notch just like your other dinosaur reviews, appreciate your work into these reviews dinodragons.

Superb review as always, very well spotted, pointing out the torso shape, something that most people didnt noticed, thats why you are the best in this IMHO. And you are right, most megalosauroids had flat torsos, (with the only exception of Spinosaurus) their ribs are straight and pointing downgards because the horizontal transverse processes of most of the dorsal vertebrae, so their rib cages look mediolaterally compresed. The thic torsos only appear in allosaurids (not even in carcharodontosaurids) and tyrannosaurids (avetheropod condition), the shaft of their ribs is bowed and the transverse processes dorsolaterally positioned in the thoracic vertebrae. So you are very right, that body is from very different families.

to be honest when i look at the claws, the sculpted thumb claw is actually indeed as big as it needs to be compared to the rest, but the paint of the claws is a bit sloppy in some areas especially the base so you cannot really notice it easily, in this shot 5:41 you can see the color of the thumb claw ends before the actual claw and in 5:24 you can see the second claw having its color extend all the way to the start of the finger, so with a paint touch up the claw can pop up more but the actual sculpted claw is fine in fact its as big as in the hlg baryonyx

I’m curious to see PNSO’s reasoning for the robust torso, but all things considered I really like this model a lot. It’s one of the few releases I ordered on day one before any reviews or in hand photos came out.

Saichania seems to have been overshadowed by Pinacosaurus and especially Tarchia after Prehistoric Planet but it's such a beautiful animal. Ankylosaurids in general deserve more appreciation then they currently get and this model certainly does it justice.

Just wondering, is it suppose to have ten tentacles or does the fossil varies? I bought this toy called "Beastbox" name Downspiral. If you don't want to look them up, they's basically Transformers but as robot animals that transforms into a cube. The Downspiral is based on an Orthoceras however it only got six tentacles? I mean I can understand why it has less tentacle due to the transformation (no way it can fit four more into a cube shape).

If you can remember, in your Euoplocephalus review video, I said, 'I wondered who would give us a Saichania chulsanensis figure'. Well, look who it is. It's none other than our friendly Haolonggood. Saichania is my favorite ankylosaurid, and since I was a kid, I always wanted to have a Saichania figure. Now my wish is fulfilled. And I will try my best to buy this amazing figure someday. Especially that gray version. The face is missing that pig nose-like appearance. And in their promotional images, I thought the forelimbs looked so inaccurate and ugly. But up close, they look so fine and natural. Thank you so much, my dear sir, for giving us these valuable videos. You are the best. Keep up the fantastic work, and I am excited for the next video. 🖤🖤

@DinosDragons
@DinosDragons 4 күн бұрын
The issue likes in subsequent runs when the paint apps get poorer and poorer. I don't think the color quality of your new figure deteriorates unless you put it in the sun. The other thing is, if you are in the West, it will depend on who you are getting it from. For example, if you got from Dan's Dinosaurs, he would have a clearer idea than some other middleman shipper like Amazon. Perhaps Lanatimshop would know as well. Another idea is, go on one of the West-based Internet forums and ask if anyone has recently bought this, and get their feedback. There should be plenty of people who buy from time to time, and I am sure they would be able to give you their experiences.

Even better, it was someone from the original hexalogy and not from the sequels that as far as I am concerned, don't exist 😁 It will indeed make a fine addition! It's a bit of a pity the PNSO Pinacosaurus is too big for 1:35, but if PNSO makes a Tarchia in the same scale as that, or HLG makes one in the same scale as this, it would be a nice collection of the essential trio!

Thank you! I hope it doesn't disappoint! I prefer mostly those that are models that were more scientifically-based when made, and don't get toylike figures, such as the Mattel JP ones, and in general except for a few iconic ones like the Brachiosaurus and the T Rex, I don't get any of the JP ones. I do have a couple of BOTM ceratopsians, but tha's about it for articulated figures for me. Needless to say Schleich and Papo are out for me as well. Some of these are fine figures art-wise, but I have so little space left that I have to save it, not to mention money! 😁

@@DinosDragons yeah that's completely understandable. I'm also not too partial to articulated figures or those outside of scientific accuracy. Thanks for another fantastic WAM review. These figures are absolutely amazing and the design engineering that enables such detailed and accurate 3-dimensional representation is incredible. I haven't bought any yet as they are quite expensive to import to the UK. Plus the fact that I've already reached a critical space constraint thanks to Messr's PNSO, Haolonggood, Rebor, Eofauna, Nanmu, Beasts of the Mesozoic, etc.. These WAM figures deserve prominent display in an uncluttered environment to enjoy their individual splendor. There's the rub. But I would really love to get a few of these. Awesome!!

I think one thing HLG has shown is that it is definitely more diverse right now than PNSO, and given how popular they are, hopefully they will feel comfortable to start taking more risks with animals the way PNSO used to a couple years ago. HLG really has reached such a high level in those important areas for me, such as scientific accuracy (in general), paint application, and sculpted detail, and even has one fourth - which is price - I think it is quite hard to differentiate some of their work from HLG's work now. However, PNSO still makes the best theropods in my opinion!

@DinosDragons
@DinosDragons 4 күн бұрын
Because for me, they are more toys and not models. When you have aritculated figures, there are many compromises that have to be made, in order for them to balance, to have joints to move and hence seam lines, and once you pose them, you have breaks in colour and pattern continuity. So they really look good in just one 'real' position, where colour and patterns are interrupted. But I do have a couple of BOTM ceratopsians. They are such nice work that I want to have at least some representation of them.

There are so many interpretations for such a fragmentary creature, which may or may not be chimera, and which depending on the scaling system used, give so many possible measures that it all is really quite arbitrary, and there is no one definitive measure. I recently saw a very spirited argument based on MSMN V4047, and I think it's ridiculous since even if we knew every single bone in Spinosaurus anatomy, ever individual doesn't scale much _exactly_ in proportions. Think about the people you know who have bigger hands on a shorter body than you, or some other measure.
