Shane Veincent is a member of a legendary hip-hop band from the Big Island of Hawai'i. This tattoo artist is the co-founder of the first Hawaiian rap group called Sudden Rush. From 1994 to 2018 they released four albums evolving from emulating the popular gangsta rap of the 1990s to perpetuating the importance of Hawaiian culture and commenting on local political issues. They have collaborated with some of the biggest names in Hawai’i such as Fiji, John Cruz, Keli’i Reichel, Willie K, Amy Hanaiali’i Gilliam, Jon Osorio, and many more.
Kwai-Chang Publico is a lifelong entrepreneur from the Big siland of Hawai’i. He is the manager of Sudden Rush and the founder of So Juicy Hawai'i. He is also the first ever World Juicing Champion.
In this episode we talk about growing up together on the Big Island, forming Sudden Rush, the loss of their bandmate Ke'ala, life stories, how Kwai-Chang became the first ever world juicing champ, Hawaiian sovereignty, their futures and so much more. Enjoy!

"Deeze popolo guys..." 😂 They are also close friends of mine, and I immediately text this to Biz. He said "I have never experienced that type of validity from the Hip Hop community in Hawaii. Definitely the highlight of my career." We just had a conversation the week before about not getting his props, and this meant so much for him. Mahalo Shane and Kwai for everything that you guys did for me as a teenager growing up. The panaewa ragers were legendary. Rest in Aloha to the GOAT of olelo rap, the first to ever do it. I like the term Bricklayers. It's very appropriate. The vulnerability you men showed had me in effin tears brah. Shane, no stop braddah, write, inspire, that is your gift to the culture and your Ohana . Your fans too. Da ike you get now will create change in the youth. I truly believe the eha you have would make great music. Write for the groups you mentioned, idk, but NO STOP MAH BRADDAH. Mahalo Kamaka, deep episode. Love your work BTW! KUE

Watched these guys grow up! They came out with dat FiYaH! Nobody was doing Rap let alone in Olelo Hawai'i RIP Long Live da King Don Juan, Keala. Raised so many eyebrows, but this Generation was ready 4 it! They helped our Ohana with a Fundraiser after the passing of our infant niece. Experienced them on both Maui & Hawai'i Island. Native Flesh was da hang spot when I lived in Hilo. So Grateful for this walk down memory lane, Mahalo nui. KUE! Imua 'ame Onipa'a! For da Kingdom 👑
