Why do people put LS engines in Fox Bodies when you can bore and stroke a Cleveland to 427 and it will be able to outperform any LS crate-for-crate or matched otherwise? Our 88' Mark VII LSC has a 302 Cleveland in it and we've stomped everything comparable to it except for a few that were pushing more boost, more nitrous, and had better launches. If you're going to put all that work into it, make it worth your while. This 409 LS is still badass, no matter what. P.S: If anyone knows of a decent 88' Mark VII LSC for sale in any states surrounding PA, reply with info or a link please! We are planning a 385-series swap, but don't have the car to do it!
@kevin12275910 жыл бұрын
LS motors are light weight and easy to put into anything. And they will run up to 7000 rpm without a problem. A windsor engine is by far better then a cleveland engine because of the aftermarket supply of windsor performance parts. Not much out there for a cleveland. It is an old engine, weight and dimensions are a problem when trying to put them in a small car like the foxbody.

I doubt that there is a lighter more affordable chassis out there to put an LS motor in. Praise the people that do this. It creates demand on performance parts for all of us. I have seen LS cobalts and LS cavaliers do 9's but the amount of modifications makes it too expensive to build. So who cares what engine you put in what. Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

I'm a Ford purist and nothing chap's my ass more than to see my favorite car and the most iconic car of all time running it's despised competition's engine. Henry Ford is rolling in his grave. And if no one cares which engine is in what brand then we had just as well close down drag strips. I root for Ford's when I'm at the track the same as chevy and dodge guy's pull for their brand. I refuse to pull for any Mustang running a chevy engine... it's just stupid IMHO,

1. The Mustang that raced 98% of the cars in this video were a couple hundred HP short of what it had. 2. Just about all of the races at the strip are where the other cars couldn't hook up. 3. The 1/8th mile is quite possibly the gayest form of "racing" there is.
@Elmo1970A10 жыл бұрын
1. How is that the Mustang's fault they were underpowered? 2. That was the point, he was racing "full on drag cars" at the dragstrip--in a streetable car. Get it now? 3. Yea, 10.5 Outlaw, 275 radial and Promod are gay. Bet you watch the roll races, don't you? Bet you think those UGR Lambo's are the fasting thing out there, don't you? 4. Are you a troll? Seriously.

First off, There are probably more chevy powered Bastard Fords then any other combo, Even if you include the AC & Sunbeam Tiger productions . Most Ford's that came with a flat head, T bucket's and Model A's, if they were getting built as a hotrod They were given a Heartbeat. :P For The Cvevy LS is probably the cheapest engine out there commonly boosted with over 1000 hp easy. Then you got options like shoving a big twin turbo set up on a LS7 Vette capable of 2000hp that would love to eat Lambs for breakfeast. The way Chevy always seems to beat Ford and Dodge is strictly price. To build a Ford or Dodge to compete or beat a Chevy is very doable. Just in the end with the money it took to build either a Ford or Dodge. You could have bought and built 2 Chevys. I always give props to the ford guys because of lack of engine choices and same with Dodge are not much better. $700-800for a Mopar M1 aluminum intake. At that price spent on a chev your talking polished Edelbrock and port matching heads/intake. Don't get me wrong the OHC Foed v8 is a sweet motor and is nice to finally see a American v8 move away from 1950's pushrod design. The 347 stroker is a sweet ford build. Even the newer Hemi's are packing serious HP. The dodge 318 Magum is a little gem in it self, that always gets overlooked. 8.5:1 stock compression, stock roller cam, Stock steel cast crank. Now that lil magnum is just screaming for boost. Heard of one guy running 20 psi on a stock internals. European V8,10 and 12's sound cool in there own way. There aint nothing out there that sound as good, like the rumble and growl of a American V8. For my self the 671/871 blower idle surge..... God damn that is just pornography for the ears.
@knucklehead020210 жыл бұрын
Shades shady only because losers spent too much on the paint job to build a real motor...a REAL hot rod, while it may not have the same brand's engine, at least has something different, not the same thing over and over, like douchebag cookie-cutter hotrods with small or big-block chevy engines. The LSX is just the newer version, taking most of it's design cues from better-made engines like Ford's. The claim about chevy's price point doesn't hold water either. The dodge viper has outperformed the corvette since it was first produced, and still does, with very little changing mechanically, while the vette continues to get larger and larger engines, now supercharged as well. Sell crazy someplace else.
@shadesCAN10 жыл бұрын
knucklehead0202 Viper ok sure even tho Chrysler Corporation (1992-1998) DaimlerChrysler had to get the then-Chrysler subsidiary Lamborghini to design the V10. All that tells me is that the a Italian car company beat the Vette. A Vette owner has 40k left for go fast goodies over the guy who bought a Viper. A Twin turbo Vette will eat vipers all day long. "The LSX is just the newer version, taking most of it's design cues from better-made engines like Ford's." You just go smoke some CRACK?? You think Ford did'nt steal OHC V,V,T / V,V,L from Yamaha/Toyota or the Honda Vtec? You want too talk theft, Fords over produced 302 5.0l was a complete cookie cutter, copy cat job on the Chevy zapper 302 . You think I'M selling crazy I at least know that the 600+ cid 8000+ hp are made by mopar and Chev.

@BetterToBeBlown8 жыл бұрын
