Let me explain the alignment, positive camber in the rear helps because when the cars squats during launch it induces negative camber. What they are doing is to cancel out the negative camber and the rear tires basically end at 0 camber and making full contact.

Yep, less anti squat.

The rear suspension is independent on most of those cars. That’s why the tires tow in like that so whenever it launches, it has more surface area of tire and launches a lot better.

The reason they have their slicks toad in like that is for when they launch the tires tow out and they flattened against the surface they do that for weight distribution and it truly does work I do it at my local track.

Condolences on the loss of your father. I do believe the rear alignment that you mentioned is because they are running IRS so they add positive camber and toe in so that when the car squats under load the tires square up and have as much traction as possible. Not 100% sure but I think that's what is happening.
